Abstract

A container (10) comprising a base (12) defining a recess (14) for storing at least one object (100), and a lid (16) moveable between a first position in which the recess (14) is covered by the lid (16) and a second position in which the recess (14) is exposed for allowing the object (100) to be removed from the recess (14), wherein the second position the lid (16) is configured to act as a stand on which the base (12) is supported. The lid (16) may comprise a supporting portion (22) which is configured, when supported on a horizontal surface (200) when the lid (16) is in the second position, to orientate the container (10) such that the recess (14) is exposed at an angle of between 30 degrees and 60 degrees with respect to the horizontal.

Description

The present invention relates to a case and a corresponding method that can be used in the context of storing at least one item, such as a main body and a cartridge of an aerosol delivery system.

Prerequisites of the invention

In the context of shipping items such as the aerosol delivery system (e-cigarette) and its components, there is a possibility that such items may be damaged during shipping if they are not properly contained in the case.

Existing cases for transporting such items may be awkward to open and access to the items may be difficult when the case is in the open position.

Accordingly, this document describes various approaches that are intended to help solve or mitigate some of these problems.

The essence of the invention

According to a first aspect of certain embodiments, a case is provided that includes a base that defines a recess for storing at least one object and a cover configured to be movable between a first position in which the recess is capped and a second position in which the recess is opened to provide the possibility of extracting the object from the recess, while in the second position the lid is adapted to perform the function of a stand on which the base is supported.

According to a second aspect of certain embodiments, a case is provided that includes a base that defines a recess for storing at least one object and a cover configured to be movable between a first position in which the recess is capped and a second position in which the recess is opened to provide retrievability of the object from the recess, wherein the case includes a fastening means for securing the cover in the first position, the fastening means being an elastic material which is attached to the case, adapted to hold a portion of the cover between the elastic material and the base when the cover is in the first position .

According to a third aspect of certain embodiments, a kit of parts is provided that includes a case according to the first or second aspects of the present invention and a main body from the system

From the aerosol delivery system, and the cartridge from the aerosol delivery system, the cartridge is designed to be attached to the main body, and at least one item includes the main body and the cartridge.

According to a fourth aspect of certain embodiments, a method of storing at least one item in a case according to either of the first or second aspects of the present invention is provided.

It should be understood that the features and aspects of the present invention described above with respect to the various aspects of the present invention are equally applicable to, and may be combined with, embodiments of the present invention in accordance with other aspects of the present invention, and not only in specific combinations described in this document.

Thus, it should be understood that aspects and features of the device and methods,

considered in this document, which are not described in detail, can be implemented according to any conventional technologies for implementing such aspects and features.

With reference to the figures, a case 10 is shown which includes a base 12 that defines a recess 14 for storing at least one object 100. The case further includes a cover 16 configured to be movable between a first closed position (as shown in Fig. 2B and Fig. 3A). , in which the recess 14 is covered with a cover 16, and a second open support position (as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 3B), in which the recess 14 is opened to allow the extraction of the object 100 from the recess 14, while in the second position the cover 16 is adapted to perform the function of a stand on which the base 12 is supported.

According to some embodiments, such as the case shown in the figures, the base 12 includes a front surface 18 that is covered by a cover 16 in the first position of the cover 16 and a rear surface 20 opposite the front surface 18, the cover being adapted to support back surface 20 when the cover is in the second position.

In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 1, the cover 16 may include a support portion 22 that is adapted, when supported on the horizontal surface 200, when the cover 16 is in the second position, to orient the case so that the recess 14 and/or the front surface 18 are opened at an angle of from 30 degrees to 60 degrees relative to the horizontal.

According to some embodiments, the lid 16 may contain at least one fold line 28 for bending the lid 16 into several smaller parts. In some specific embodiments, such as those shown in the figures, at least one fold line 28 is shown as including multiple fold lines. In such embodiments, multiple fold lines may be parallel to each other, as shown, for example, in FIG. 1 and fig. ZS.

In some embodiments, the cover 16 may be capable of elastic deformation between the first position and the second position.

The case may in some cases contain a fastener 30 for securing the cover 16 in the first position. In some embodiments, such as those shown in the figures, the fastening means may comprise an elastic material 30 which is attached to the case 10,

The shape and content of the recess can be adapted depending on the intended use of the case. In some embodiments, the recess 14 may contain at least one primary holder 32 for releasably securing the T00A main body used in the aerosol delivery system in the recess 14. In some embodiments, the recess may contain at least one secondary holder 34 for releasably securing in the recess 14 the 100V cartridge from the aerosol delivery system. In the embodiments shown in the figures, the recess 14 includes one primary holder 32 and two secondary holders 34 so that the case 10 can accommodate the entire aerosol delivery system together with a spare/replacement cartridge 100B for use in the aerosol delivery system when the primary cartridge 100B, which is stored in the case, expires or is used up.

As for the size and dimensions of the case, this will also depend on the intended use of the case. In some embodiments, the case may have a maximum width

In some embodiments, the cap 16 may include a first end 16A that is attached to the base 12 and a second free end 168 opposite the first end 16A. In such embodiments, the cap may also include an end portion 16C that has a width that decreases in the direction from the first end 16A to the second free end 168.

To help provide the user with a better grip on the case during use, in some embodiments, the case may include at least one raised surface 38 for the user to grip the case. In some embodiments, the relief surface may include multiple grooves 40. The position of the at least one relief surface may be appropriately located on the case depending on its intended use, however, in some embodiments, the cover may include at least one relief surface, as shown in the case embodiments of FIG. . 1 and fig. BY.

In terms of operation of the cases described herein, an example of operation is described with reference to the embodiment of the cases shown in FIG. 1-30. In this particular embodiment, the case 10 is equipped with a cover 16 in its first position, in which it covers the front surface 18 of the base 12, for example to cover the recess 14.

To better secure the cover 16 in its first position, the fastener 30 in the form of an elastic material 30 holds a part of the cover 16 between the elastic material 30 and the base 12. The use of such a fastener 30, which holds a part of the cover 16 between the fastener 30 and the base 12, provides a reliable , but an easy-to-use mechanism to hold the lid in the closed position.

From this first position, the cover 16 is then withdrawn from the location between the elastic material 30 and the base 12, and the cover 16 is then moved to the open non-supporting position, as shown in FIG. 2A and fig. ZS. In this open position, any item 100 from recess 14 may then be withdrawn for use as required by the user.

From the open non-support position, the cover can then be moved to a second open support position shown in FIG. 1, by moving the cover 14 and bending it around the fold lines 28 so that the cover 14 supports the rear surface 20 of the case 10. In this second position, the support portion 22 of the cover 16, when supported on the horizontal surface 200, orients the case 10 so that the recess 14 and/or the front surface 18 are opened at an angle relative to the horizontal, for example, from 30 degrees to 60 degrees relative to the horizontal. Accordingly, in this position, the lid 16 effectively functions as a stand that supports the base 12 and any object 100 that resides in the recess 14 and thus provides the user with convenient access to the recess 14 and any object 100 that is in it.

When moving the lid between the closed and open positions, the presence of a relief surface 38 and grooves 40 in the lid 14 provides the user with the ability to better hold the lid as it moves, in particular, in wet conditions.

It should be understood that while the above description focuses on some specific configurations of cases that include a number of different features, cases according to other embodiments of the present invention may not include all of these features. For example, in some embodiments, the cover 16 may not be adapted to function as a stand on which the base 12 is supported when the cover 16 is in its second position.

In some embodiments, the lid 16 may not contain at least one fold line 28 for bending the lid 16 into several smaller parts. In such embodiments, the cover 16 may instead be capable of elastic deformation between the first position and the second position to enable its movement therebetween.

Additionally, while the case configurations disclosed herein were primarily disclosed as being used to support components from a vapor delivery system, it will be understood that the cases described herein may be used to store any desired item depending on the application of the case . For example, in some embodiments, the case 10 may be used to support jewelry such as a watch or necklace; or in another embodiment, a set of glasses. In these embodiments, the recess may contain at least one holder for releasably securing the object to be held in the recess.

In some embodiments, the case may be provided separately. However, in some embodiments, the case 10 may be provided as part of a kit in which the case 10 is provided together with at least one item 100 that the case 10 is adapted to store in its recess 14 .

Claims (15)
