Abstract
The invention relates to the ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the development of the mixtures’ composition for modifying and alloying cast iron. The mixture for the modification and alloying cast iron contains slag for aluminothermic production of master alloys based on rare-earth metals, and the production waste of superconductors and additionally contains lanthanum carbide at the following component ratio, wt. %: slag of aluminothermic production of master alloys based on rare-earth metals - 73-77, waste of superconductors’ production - 10-20, lanthanum carbide - 7-13. The invention enhances the strength of modified cast iron by 2-6 % and heat resistance by 24-38 %.
