Abstract

The invention relates to the method for manufacturing Desmopressin acetate tablets comprising the dissolution of the active ingredient, the addition of the excipients, the granulation and tabletting. Copovidon is selected as a substance that regulates the rate of Desmopressin release. Desmopressin acetate is added to Copovidon solution, the mixture is stirred until the complete dissolution. The solution is used for moistening the mixture of the excipients – starch and lactose followed by wet granulation. The wet granules are dried at the temperature of 45-50 ºC until the residual moisture content not more than 5 %, granulated through the sieve, 1 mm mesh size, powdered with magnesium stearate and compressed. The invention relates to pharmaceutical composition and method for its manufacture and use in the treatment and prevention of the primary nocturnal enuresis, nicturia and other diseases including central diabetes insipidus.
