Abstract

An electrical card connector includes an insulative housing, a receiving cavity recessed from the insulative housing, a contact retained in the insulative housing, and a receiving passageway recessed from the insulative housing and communicating with the receiving cavity for receiving the contact. The contact includes a main portion, a cantilevered beam section extending from the main portion, and a contact portion extending from the cantilevered beam section for contacting with an electrical card. The cantilevered beam section includes a prolongation extending from the main portion, a turning portion at the end of the prolongation, and an incline beam portion extending from the turning portion for contacting with the contact portion. The insulative housing further includes an engaging portion in the receiving passageway for supporting the prolongation when the contact has been suppressed. As a result, the contact can be easily manufactured.
