Description

Pet monitoring systems and methods for monitoring pets

This invention relates to a pet monitoring system and a method for monitoring pets, particularly a pet monitoring system and method for monitoring pets that can detect the status of pets at any time.

With the evolution of modern society, people's love and care for pets is increasing, leading to the emergence of various pet monitoring devices, such as fixed or mobile cameras, allowing owners to know their pets' status at any time. However, previous fixed cameras could only be used in a fixed location and could not track pet activities from all angles. While mobile cameras have the function of automatically tracking pets, power is a major issue. Mobile cameras continuously monitor regardless of whether the pet is active, so they often have limited battery life and must be constantly recharged, resulting in monitoring interruptions. Furthermore, existing pet monitoring equipment mainly focuses on video monitoring and fails to integrate physiological data such as the pet's weight and heart rate.

Therefore, it is necessary to invent a new pet monitoring system and a method for monitoring pets to address the shortcomings of previous technologies.

To enable your review committee to better understand the technical content of this invention, the following are some preferred specific examples.

Please refer to Figure 1, which is a schematic diagram of the structure of the pet monitoring system of the present invention, and Figure 2, which is a schematic diagram of the appearance of the pet monitoring system of the present invention.

The pet monitoring system 1 of this invention is applicable to pet 2 to track the status of pet 2. Although the following illustration uses a "cat" as an illustration of pet 2, this invention is not limited to the type of pet 2. The pet monitoring system 1 of this invention can also be used for other mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds, etc.

In one embodiment of the present invention, the pet monitoring system 1 includes a resting area 10, a mobile monitoring device 20, a charging device 30, a monitoring database 40, and a data processing device 50. The resting area 10 is for the pet to rest on, and may be equipped with a soft mat or have its appearance configured according to different pet categories; the present invention is not limited thereto. At least one physiological value detector 11 is installed inside the resting area 10, which can detect the pet 2 after it enters the resting area 10. In one embodiment of the present invention, the physiological value detector 11 may include at least a weight sensor 111 and a heart rate detection module 112. The weight sensor 111 can detect the weight of the pet 2 when it is in the resting area 10. The heart rate detection module 112 has the function of capturing the heart rate fluctuations of the pet 2 when it is resting using ultra-wideband technology, and has high accuracy and anti-interference characteristics, thereby detecting the heart rate value of the pet 2. In this way, the weight sensor 111 and the heart rate detection module 112 can obtain the health data of the pet 2 when it is in the resting area 10. In addition, the resting area 10 may also include other modules, such as a temperature control module 12, which can appropriately heat the resting area 10 when the weather is cold, so that the pet 2 can have a more comfortable environment.

30。The mobile monitoring device 20 can have a spherical shell and internally houses a high-capacity lithium battery, a high-resolution wide-angle camera module, and multiple wheel mechanisms or rollers to enable multi-directional movement and capture dynamic images of the pet 2. As shown in Figure 3, which is a schematic diagram of the pet monitoring system of the present invention in use during pet activity, the technology of tracking the pet 2 using the mobile monitoring device 20 is not the focus of this invention and will not be described in detail here. Thus, the mobile monitoring device 20 can mobilely track and monitor the pet 2 while it is active, obtaining a monitoring image signal. The mobile monitoring device 20 is also equipped with a signal transmission module 21 and a power management module 22. The signal transmission module 21 can transmit signals via wired or wireless means. For example, it can transmit signals while the mobile monitoring device 20 is moving to the charging device 30 for charging, or it can transmit and receive signals anytime using technologies such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. This invention is not limited to these methods. In this way, the monitoring video signal can be transmitted to other modules, such as the monitoring database 40 or the data processing device 50. The power management module 22 has an intelligent power monitoring function to monitor the internal power of the mobile monitoring device 20 and, when the power is low, move the mobile monitoring device 20 to the charging device 30.

The charging device 30 is disposed adjacent to the resting area 10, allowing the mobile monitoring device 20 to be electrically connected to the charging device 30 independently, thus enabling the mobile monitoring device 20 to be charged. The charging device 30 can be charged using inductive charging or charging contact charging; this invention does not limit the charging method. When the pet 2 is in the resting area 10, the mobile monitoring device 20 moves automatically to the charging device 30 to charge, while simultaneously monitoring the pet 2. As shown in Figure 4, Figure 4 is a schematic diagram of the pet monitoring system of this invention used when the pet is located in the resting area. The size, height, and other specifications of the charging device 30 are designed according to different usage scenarios, and this invention is not limited to the style shown in the illustration. Thus, the mobile monitoring device 20 is used to monitor the pet 2 when it is active, and the physiological data detector 11 provides health data when the pet 2 is in the resting area 10, while the mobile monitoring device 20 monitors the pet 2.

The monitoring database 40 and data processing device 50 can be installed inside the rest area 10 or mounted on an external computer system. This invention does not limit the installation location of the monitoring database 40 and data processing device 50. The monitoring database 40 is electrically connected to the mobile monitoring device 20 and the physiological value detector 11 via wired or wireless means to receive and store monitoring image signals obtained from the mobile monitoring device 20 and health data obtained from the physiological value detector 11. The data processing device 50 is electrically connected to the monitoring database 40 to receive health data from the monitoring database 40, determine the physical condition of the pet 2 based on the health data, and simultaneously analyze the pet 2's facial expressions or behavioral patterns based on the monitoring video signals. In one embodiment of the present invention, the data processing device 50 can use artificial intelligence technology to analyze the pet 2's behavioral patterns and physical condition, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In this way, the data processing device 50 can infer from the behavior pattern when the pet 2 is active and when it is in the resting area 10, and notify the mobile monitoring device 20. The power management module 22 of the mobile monitoring device 20 can then further determine whether it needs to return to the charging device 30 according to the behavior pattern, so that the mobile monitoring device 20 can charge first to avoid the situation of running out of power.

Finally, in one embodiment of the present invention, the data processing device 50 can also transmit the monitoring image signal and the health data, along with the analyzed behavioral patterns and physical status, to the user interface terminal 3. The user interface terminal 3 can be an application on a user's mobile phone or computer, so the user can know the current image of the pet 2 and the behavior or physical status of the pet 2 analyzed by artificial intelligence technology anytime and anywhere. The user can also use the user interface terminal 3 to control the movement of the mobile monitoring device 20. The present invention does not limit the functionality of the user interface terminal 3.

It should be noted that the various modules of the pet monitoring system 1 can be constructed as hardware devices, hardware-integrated hardware devices, etc., but the present invention is not limited to the above-described methods. Furthermore, this embodiment only illustrates a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and to avoid redundancy, not all possible variations and combinations are described in detail. However, those skilled in the art should understand that not all of the above-described modules or components are necessarily necessary. Moreover, other more detailed conventional modules or components may be included for the implementation of the present invention. Each module or component may be omitted or modified as needed, and there may be other modules or components between any two modules.

Next, please refer to Figure 5, which is a flowchart of the steps of the pet monitoring method of the present invention. It should be noted that although the pet monitoring system 1 above is used as an example to illustrate the pet monitoring method of the present invention, the pet monitoring method of the present invention is not limited to use in the pet monitoring system 1 with the same structure as described above.

First, proceed to step 501: Obtain health data for the pet located in the resting area of one of the pet monitoring systems.

Firstly, at least one physiological value detector 11 installed inside the resting area 10 can detect the pet 2 after it enters the resting area 10. The physiological value detector 11 may include at least a weight sensor 111 and a heart rate detection module 112 to detect the weight and heart rate of the pet 2, but the invention is not limited thereto.

Next, proceed to step 504: Determine the pet's physical condition based on the health data.

Next, the data processing device 50 receives the health data from the monitoring database 40 and uses artificial intelligence technology to analyze the health data to determine the physical condition of the pet 2.

Finally, proceed to step 505: Analyze the pet's behavioral patterns based on the surveillance video signals.

Finally, the data processing device 50 analyzes the pet 2's behavioral patterns using artificial intelligence technology based on the monitoring image signals from the monitoring database 40 to understand the pet 2's habits. The data processing device 50 can notify the mobile monitoring device 20 to return to the charging device 30 to charge when it predicts that the pet 2 needs to rest, thus preventing the battery from running out. Furthermore, the data processing device 50 can also transmit the monitoring image signals and health data, along with the analyzed behavioral patterns and physical status, to the user interface 3, allowing the user to view them at any time.

It should be noted that the pet monitoring method of this invention is not limited to the above-described order of steps. As long as the purpose of this invention can be achieved, the above-described order of steps can also be changed.

Therefore, the pet monitoring system 1 of this invention can know the status of the pet 2 anytime and anywhere, and can also analyze the behavior of the pet 2, and pre-allocate the power according to whether the pet 2 needs to rest, which can effectively solve the shortcomings of the previous technology.

It should be noted that the above embodiments are merely illustrative of preferred embodiments of the present invention, and to avoid redundancy, not all possible combinations of variations are described in detail. However, those skilled in the art will understand that not all of the above modules or elements are necessarily necessary.
