Abstract

A drainage rack with planting function is disclosed to solve the problem of poor usability of conventional drainage racks. The drainage rack with planting function of this invention comprises: a base having a communicating planting space and a communicating chamber; and a frame connected to the base, the frame forming a compartment, a portion of which is open to the outside, and the bottom end of which is connected to the communicating chamber.

Description

Drainage rack with planting function

This invention relates to a household item, particularly a drainer with a planting function.

As one of the most frequently used tools in daily cooking, the cleaning and storage of cutting boards directly affect the hygiene of food and the lifespan of the cutting board itself. If cutting boards are not properly cleaned and dried after use, they can easily harbor dirt and bacteria, and water accumulation can cause wooden or bamboo cutting boards to warp and crack, affecting their effectiveness and safety.

However, most common cutting board racks are currently installed with a metal wire frame, hanging under a wall cabinet or on a kitchen wall, or placed on the countertop as a shelf. They all have a water tray underneath to collect the water that drips from the cutting board. Therefore, users must frequently empty the water tray, otherwise the water will breed bacteria or mosquitoes.

On the other hand, in order to make it easy to obtain fresh culinary herbs, many people place potted herbs such as mint, basil, or rosemary in their kitchens; however, in addition to taking up counter space, they often suffer from root rot due to overwatering or withering due to forgetting to water them for several days, causing users to have to repurchase potted herbs every now and then.

In view of the shortcomings of the aforementioned conventional technology, the inventor felt that it was not perfect, so he devoted his mind to research and overcoming it, and developed a drainage rack with planting function, which can be used to place objects for drainage, and use the drained water to provide the appropriate amount of water needed for plant growth.

To achieve the above and other objectives, the present invention provides a drainage rack with planting function, comprising: a base having a planting space and a connecting chamber connected thereto; and a frame connected to the base, the frame forming a compartment, a portion of which is connected to the outside, and the bottom end of which is connected to the connecting chamber.

The frame can be located in the rear half of the base, and the planting space can be located in the front half of the base.

The interior of the base may be hollow only in the area forming the planting space and the connecting chamber, while the rest may be solid.

The frame may include a front panel and a rear panel facing each other, and the compartment is located between the front panel and the rear panel. Each of the front panel and the rear panel may be provided with several lattice sections.

The front and rear sections can each be a single piece, and the vent can be a ventilation hole penetrating the front or rear section.

The frame may include two opposing side panels, each of which can be connected to the front panel and the rear panel.

Both the base and the frame can be made of cement mortar.

The frame may be provided with a support base, which is located between the commissure and the connecting chamber.

The base may be equipped with a partition net, which is located between the planting space and the connecting chamber.

The connecting chamber may be inclined, with its higher part located below the container and its lower part connected to the planting space.

Therefore, this invention provides a drainage rack with a plant-growing function. Its simple and compact structure allows for the placement and drainage of items, while the drained water provides the plants with the necessary moisture for growth, without taking up excessive space. Users simply place the washed items on the rack; there's no need to remove excess water or worry about overwatering or forgetting to water, which could lead to poor plant growth. It's very convenient and doesn't waste water. Furthermore, the plants grown on the rack can decorate the space or bring natural fragrance, adding a touch of nature and aesthetic appeal. This invention is a product that combines practicality and beauty.

To fully understand the purpose, features, and effects of this invention, the following specific embodiments, in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, will provide a detailed explanation of this invention, as follows:

Please refer to Figure 1, which is a preferred embodiment of the planting-functional drainage rack of the present invention. The planting-functional drainage rack of this embodiment includes a base 1 and a frame 2 connected together.

Please refer to Figures 1 to 4. The base 1 is provided with a planting space 11 and a connecting chamber 12. The planting space 11 is suitable for placing cultivation media to grow plants, and the connecting chamber 12 is used to connect the planting space 11 with the interior of the frame 2. The present invention does not limit the form of the base 1, as long as it can form the aforementioned planting space 11 and connecting chamber 12.

The frame 2 is connected to the base 1, and the frame 2 forms a chamber 21. The chamber 21 is connected to the outside at least from the top or side, so that objects to be drained can be placed into or removed from the chamber 21. The bottom end of the chamber 21 is connected to the connecting chamber 12, so that the water drained from the object can flow from the chamber 21 through the connecting chamber 12 into the planting space 11.

Please refer to Figure 5. The drainage rack with planting function in this embodiment allows users to grow plants P, such as cooking herbs or any suitable plants P, in the planting space 11. In use, washed objects S (e.g., but not limited to cutting boards) can be placed in the chamber 21 to dry, and the water drained from the object S can drip from the chamber 21 into the connecting chamber 12 and then into the planting space 11 to moisten the cultivation medium in the planting space 11 (e.g., but not limited to soil, or a fibrous medium with relatively fixed shape formed by compressing plant fibers), providing the plant P with the appropriate amount of water required for growth.

Accordingly, the draining rack with plant function in this embodiment provides the function of draining objects S through a simple and compact structure, and uses the drained water to provide the water needed for the growth of plants P, without taking up too much space. Therefore, users only need to place the washed objects S on the rack 2, without the need to remove the water, and without worrying about overwatering or forgetting to water, which may lead to poor growth of plants P. It is very convenient to use and does not waste water resources. In addition, the plants P planted on the base 1 can also decorate the space or bring natural fragrance to the space, adding a natural atmosphere and beauty to the life in the space. It is a product that combines practicality and aesthetics.

It is worth mentioning that the planter-functional drainer of this embodiment is not necessarily placed in the kitchen for draining cutting boards; it can be used in many other situations in daily life. For example, it can be placed in the bathroom as a drainer for toothbrushes, or placed next to a fish tank as a drainer for small tools such as fishing nets. Therefore, the form of the base 1 and the frame 2 can be changed according to the needs of the items to be dried, which is understandable to those skilled in the art, and is not limited to the form shown in the drawings of this embodiment.

Please refer to Figures 1, 4, and 5. In one embodiment of the present invention, the frame 2 is generally located at the rear half of the base 1, that is, the planting space 11 is generally located at the front half of the base 1, so that the user can see the planted plant P from the front of the frame 2. For example, but not limited to, in this embodiment, the planting space 11 can be made open on a top surface 13 of the base 1; in other embodiments, the open portion of the planting space 11 can also extend to a front end surface 14 of the base 1, or be open only on the front end surface 14, and the present invention does not limit these aspects.

On the other hand, in this embodiment, the interior of the base 1 may have only open channels forming the planting space 11 and the connecting chamber 12, while the rest is solid. This increases the weight of the base 1, making the entire drain rack lower in center of gravity, more stable, and less prone to tipping over. Alternatively, in other embodiments, a counterweight may be embedded inside the base 1 to achieve the aforementioned stability and tipping-over effect.

In addition to the above-described embodiments, in one embodiment of the present invention, the frame 2 may include a front baffle 22 and a rear baffle 23, which are respectively connected to the base 1 and protrude from the base 1. The compartment 21 is located between the front baffle 22 and the rear baffle 23. The front baffle 22 and the rear baffle 23 may each be provided with several openings 24, so that the compartment 21 can also be connected to the outside from the front and back, thereby improving the ventilation of the compartment 21, allowing the items S placed in the compartment 21 to dry quickly, and preventing the compartment 21 from becoming a stuffy and humid environment.

For example, in one embodiment of the present invention, the front baffle 22 and the rear baffle 23 can each be a single piece, and the vent 24 can be a ventilation hole penetrating the front baffle 22 or the rear baffle 23. Furthermore, the frame 2 can also include two side panels 25, which are generally opposite each other and connected to the front baffle 22 and the rear baffle 23 to improve the overall stability of the frame 2. For example, but not limited to, in one embodiment of the present invention, the front baffle 22, the rear baffle 23, and the two side panels 25 can be integrally formed and connected, and both the base 1 and the frame 2 can be made of cement mortar material, utilizing the properties of cement mortar to achieve rapid water absorption and antibacterial and anti-mold effects. The several openings 24 on the front bumper 22 or the rear bumper 23 can also be cut or arranged into a predetermined pattern to enhance the visual effects such as decoration or recognizability.

Furthermore, in one embodiment of the present invention, the frame 2 may be provided with a support bottom 26, which is located between the chamber 21 and the connecting chamber 12, and is adapted to support the bottom end of the object S placed in the chamber 21, so that the object S can be maintained in a predetermined position in the chamber 21 and higher than the connecting chamber 12, thereby preventing the object S from contacting or getting too close to the cultivation medium in the planting space 11, so as to maintain hygiene. For example, but not limited to, the support bottom 26 may be a drainage plate with multiple holes, or a blocking strip or protrusion protruding from the inner wall of the front baffle 22 and the rear baffle 23, etc., with the principle of being able to support the bottom end of the object S and allow water to pass through.

Furthermore, in one embodiment of the present invention, the base 1 may be provided with a partition net 15, which is located between the planting space 11 and the connecting chamber 12, and is suitable for blocking and reducing the falling of the cultivation medium in the planting space 11 into the connecting chamber 12; similarly, it can prevent the object S from contacting or getting too close to the cultivation medium in the planting space 11, so as to maintain hygiene.

On the other hand, in one embodiment of the present invention, the connecting chamber 12 may be inclined, with the higher part of the connecting chamber 12 located below the container 21, and the lower part of the connecting chamber 12 connected to the planting space 11. In this way, when water flows from the container 21 into the connecting chamber 12, it can be guided downward by the connecting chamber 12 into the planting space 11, which can improve the smoothness and efficiency of water being guided to the planting space 11 and reduce the occurrence of water remaining in the connecting chamber 12.

Specifically, the base 1 may be provided with a water guiding surface 16, which is located in the connecting chamber 12. The water guiding surface 16 may be in the form of a plane or a curved surface. The high part of the water guiding surface 16 may be connected to the lower part of the inner wall of the rear panel 23, and the low part of the water guiding surface 16 may be connected to the inner bottom surface of the planting space 11, so as to ensure that the water flowing into the connecting chamber 12 can be smoothly guided to the planting space 11.

Claims (8)

A drainage rack with planting function includes: a base having a connected planting space and a connected chamber; and a frame connected to the base, the frame forming a chamber, a portion of which is connected to the outside, and the bottom end of which is connected to the connected chamber; wherein the frame includes a front panel and a rear panel facing each other, each of the front panel and the rear panel being a single piece, the chamber being located between the front panel and the rear panel, each of the front panel and the rear panel having a plurality of vents, each vent being a ventilation hole penetrating the front panel or the rear panel, each vent being higher than the planting space and not obstructed by the base; The seat is provided with a water guiding surface located in the connecting chamber. The higher part of the water guiding surface is connected to the lower part of the inner wall of the rear bumper, and the lower part of the water guiding surface is connected to the inner bottom surface of the planting space. The drainage rack with planting function as described in claim 1, wherein the rack body is located in the rear half of the base and the planting space is located in the front half of the base. The drainage rack with planting function as described in claim 1, wherein the rack body is provided with a support bottom, the support bottom being located between the container and the connecting chamber. The drainage rack with planting function as described in claim 1, wherein the base is provided with a partition net, which is located between the planting space and the connecting chamber. The drainage rack with planting function as described in any of claims 1 to 7, wherein the connecting chamber is inclined, and the higher part of the connecting chamber is located below the container, and the lower part of the connecting chamber is connected to the planting space.
