Abstract

A barcode reader and dispenser comprises: a housing; a controller and a printer located inside the housing, the printer being connected to the controller; a printing outlet and a scanning frame located on a front side of the housing, the scanning frame having a groove; and a scanning lens located at a bottom of the groove of the scanning frame, the scanning lens being connected to the controller; and a communication interface located inside the housing and being connected to the controller; the communication interface can be connected to an external barcode reader and a remote kitchen printer respectively. The present invention separates the location/time of ordering food online from the location/time of picking up food/eating food for payment, and can efficiently connect the processes of ordering food and paying together, thereby achieving the purpose of the present invention.

Description

Barcode reading and obtaining stand-alone machine and its application method

The present invention relates to a single-order pick-up machine, in particular a code-reading single-order pick-up machine, which has a scanning lens and a printer and can be used for mobile phone ordering and payment.

Usually, when customers consume in general restaurants, they need to check the food on a menu and use the menu as a basis for subsequent meal preparation and payment. This method requires the content of the menu to be manually re-entered into a cashier machine to obtain a complete record of the meal content and the amount of consumption, which is easy to cause a burden on the on-site staff. If you want to save time and trouble, just record the consumption amount, it will cause verification difficulties. Therefore, how to efficiently connect ordering and payment together to reduce the burden of re-entering manually into the cashier machine is a problem that needs to be overcome at present.

In view of the above-mentioned problems of the prior art, the present invention provides a barcode reading stand-alone machine, comprising: a housing having a front and an interior; a controller is disposed inside the housing; and a printer is connected to the controller; a printing outlet is disposed on the front of the housing; a scanning frame having a groove; and a scanning lens is disposed at a bottom of the groove of the scanning frame, and the scanning lens is connected to the controller; wherein the scanning lens can scan a barcode instruction through the scanning frame, and the controller recognizes the barcode instruction to control the printer to print a paper of the dish information corresponding to the barcode instruction, and output the paper through the printing outlet.

In one embodiment, the communication interface of the barcode reader is connected to an external barcode reader, the external barcode reader scans a confirmation barcode on a paper of a provisional order, and transmits the confirmation barcode on the provisional order to the controller via the communication interface. After the controller recognizes the confirmation barcode, the confirmation barcode is the confirmation barcode of a paid order.

In one embodiment, the communication interface of the barcode reader is connected to a remote kitchen printer, and the remote printer receives a confirmation barcode of a paid order from the controller via the communication interface, and prints a paper with the name and quantity of the dish recorded in the confirmation barcode of the paid order, so that a kitchen can prepare meals accordingly.

The barcode reader 1 of the present invention comprises a housing 2, a controller (not shown) located inside the housing 2, a printer (not shown) located inside the housing 2, a print outlet 10 located on a front side of the housing 2, a scanning frame 11 also located on the front side of the housing 2 and having a groove, and a scanning lens 12 located at a bottom of the groove of the scanning frame 11. The scanning lens 12 is connected to the controller, and the printer is connected to the controller. The printer can be a general printer, such as a thermal paper printer, a laser printer, or an inkjet printer. A paper receipt 20 printed by the printer is output from the print outlet 10. The scanning lens 12 is used to scan a barcode placed on the scanning frame 11, such as a barcode displayed on a mobile phone screen (such as a 2D barcode QR code), and transmit the scanned barcode to the controller for identification. After the controller identifies the content of the barcode, the controller transmits the identified content of the barcode to the printer to print the receipt 20. After the receipt 20 is printed, it is output from the print outlet 10.

In one embodiment, the housing 2 of the barcode reader 1 of the present invention also includes a communication interface (not shown), which is connected to the controller.

In one embodiment, a store owner generates a barcode instruction for all dishes in the backend management. When the barcode reader 1 of the present invention scans the barcode instruction for all dishes through the scanning lens 12, the information content of the barcode instruction for all dishes will be printed out through the printer to obtain a paper of a menu of all dishes (i.e., a type of receipt 20) containing the names and prices of all dishes.

In one embodiment, the communication interface of the barcode reader 1 of the present invention can be connected to a remote kitchen printer (not shown) located in a kitchen. When a temporary order is converted into a paid order, the remote printer prints a paper with the dish name and quantity recorded in the paid order. The details are as follows: the remote printer receives a confirmation barcode of a paid order from the controller via the communication interface, and prints a paper with the dish name and quantity recorded in the confirmation barcode of the paid order, so that a kitchen can prepare meals accordingly.

Step E is about notifying meal preparation: the remote printer prints a paper copy of the dish name and quantity recorded in the paid order (i.e. the meal details) to the kitchen for meal preparation.

In one embodiment, the above-mentioned menu importing step includes the following steps: 1. A mobile device logs into the store owner management backend; 2.
