Description

Anti-display burn-in processing system and method thereof

The invention relates to a display screen and a signal processing method thereof, and in particular to a processing system and a method thereof for preventing display burn-in.

With the rapid development of liquid crystal (LCD) displays, LCD screens can achieve high brightness and saturated colors in addition to being thin and light. By controlling the rotation and brightness of liquid crystal molecules, LCD screens can display a variety of images.

Due to the long-term display and the unchanged display screen, image burn-in will easily occur in specific locations. Especially for high-contrast LCD devices, it is more likely to produce afterimage burn-in on the display panel. Take the Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) display as an example. OLED displays have characteristics such as high contrast and fast response time. If the OLED display is operated for a long time, and a toolbar (dock or toolbar) is displayed in a specific area of the OLED display, since the pixels in this specific area have not been operated for a long time, it will cause the toolbar screen burn-in in the specific area.

In view of this, in one embodiment, a processing system for preventing display burn-in includes a display screen and a computer host. The computer host has a communication unit, a display interface, a storage unit and a processing unit, the processing unit is connected to the communication unit, the display interface and the storage unit, the communication unit receives a connection signal, the display interface is connected to the display screen, the storage unit includes an anti-burn-in program, the processing unit executes the anti-burn-in program, the anti-burn-in program detects that the communication unit receives an interruption in the connection signal, the anti-burn-in program captures the desktop screen as a protection screen, the anti-burn-in program sets a playback path in the display screen according to the panel properties, and the anti-burn-in program displays the protection screen along the playback path in the display screen.

In addition to providing panel protection for the display screen, the anti-burn-in program can also ensure the user's information security while playing the protection screen. The processing system and method for preventing display burn-in are applied to the anti-burn-in processing of liquid crystal display. The computer host can trigger the anti-burn-in program immediately when the user leaves, and generate a playback path with the panel properties of the display screen. The computer host captures the default desktop of the operating system and plays the captured desktop screen along the playback path. Since the desktop screen is played with pixel spacing, it can be ensured that each pixel on the liquid crystal panel has a change operation. And playing with the desktop screen can also ensure that other users cannot view the application operated by the user.

Please refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, which are respectively a schematic diagram of an anti-display burn-in processing system of an embodiment and a schematic diagram of a system component of an anti-display burn-in embodiment. The anti-display burn-in processing system (hereinafter referred to as processing system 1000) includes a display screen 100 and a computer host 200. The processing system 1000 can be applied to a personal computer, a laptop computer or a mobile communication device, such as a mobile phone or a tablet computer. The display screen 100 is connected to the computer host 200. The display screen 100 is used to play the relevant pictures provided by the computer host 200.

(Universal Serial Bus)。The computer host 200 has a communication unit 210, a display interface 220, a storage unit 230, and a processing unit 240. The processing unit 240 is connected to the communication unit 210, the display interface 220, and the storage unit 230. The communication unit 210 receives an external connection signal 310. The connection signal 310 can be transmitted to the computer host 200 by wire or by wireless. The communication unit 210 forwards the connection signal 310 to the processing unit 240. In some embodiments, the type of the communication unit 210 is Bluetooth wireless communication protocol, ZigBee protocol, wireless network, near field communication protocol, or universal serial bus.

The display interface 220 is connected to the display screen 100 . The type of display interface 220 may be, but is not limited to, High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), Display Port (DP), Video Graphics Array (VGA) or Digital Visual Interface (DVI). The processing unit 240 sends a digital signal to the display screen 100 through the display interface 220, so that the display screen 100 plays the relevant screen of the operating system 231 and its application program 232.

6。The storage unit 230 stores the operating system 231, multiple applications 232 and the anti-burning program 233. The processing unit 240 can execute the anti-burning program 233 alone or simultaneously. When the processing unit 240 executes the application 232, the processing unit 240 drives the display screen 100 to play the corresponding working window. The desktop screen 111 of the running application 232 is generally referred to as the program screen 112. The screen of the default desktop of the operating system 231 is referred to as the desktop screen 111, and FIG6 can be referred to.

111。Take Microsoft's Windows OS as an example. After the user starts the computer host 200, the computer host 200 will enable the Windows OS 231. The default work area of the Windows OS 231 is displayed on the display screen 100, and this default work area is the desktop screen 111. Similarly, for other windowed operating systems 231 or command line operating systems 231, the default work area they belong to is also called the desktop screen 111.

When the anti-burn-in program 233 is activated, the anti-burn-in program 233 reads the panel properties of the display screen 100. In some embodiments, the panel properties include current resolution, maximum resolution, panel size, refresh rate response time, or color gamut range. The panel properties can be stored in a read only memory (ROM) or a programmable read only memory (PROM) of the display screen 100, or in the storage unit 230. To further explain the operation process of the anti-burn-in program 233, please refer to Figure 3: Step S210: The computer host executes the anti-burn-in program; Step S220: The anti-burn-in program detects whether the connection signal is interrupted; Step S230: When the computer host receives the connection signal interrupted, the computer host switches the screen image to the desktop image; Step S240: The computer host captures the desktop image as the protection image; Step S240: The computer host sets the playback path in the display screen according to the panel properties of the display screen; and Step S260: The computer host displays the protection image along the playback path.

First, the processing unit 240 executes the anti-burn-in program 233. The anti-burn-in program 233 determines whether the connection signal 310 has been received. If the anti-burn-in program 233 has not received the connection signal 310, the computer host 200 waits for the connection signal 310 to be connected. If the computer host 200 has received the connection signal 310, the anti-burn-in program 233 determines whether the connection signal 310 is interrupted.

310。In one embodiment, the communication unit 210 is connected to the peripheral device 300 via signals. The peripheral device 300 may be, but is not limited to, a mobile phone or a USB device. The communication unit 210 can receive the connection signal 310 of the peripheral device 300 through a cable connection or an interface connection, or can also receive the connection signal 310 through a wireless communication protocol. The communication protocol of the peripheral device 300 matches the communication unit 210 . The computer host 200 can send a communication request to the peripheral device 300 . The peripheral device 300 generates a corresponding response signal to the computer host 200 according to the communication request, and the aforementioned response signal is the connection signal 310.

111。After the anti-burn-in program 233 is executed, the anti-burn-in program 233 starts to determine whether the connection signal 310 is interrupted. If the signal between the computer host 200 and the peripheral device 300 is interrupted, it is called that the computer host 200 is interrupted in receiving the connection signal 310. If the computer host 200 stops receiving the connection signal 310, the anti-burn-in program 233 switches the program screen 112 to the desktop screen 111. The anti-burn-in program 233 can switch (or zoom) the screen of the running application 232 to the desktop screen 111 through functions such as the window zoom function. In some embodiments, when the anti-burn-in program 233 is interrupted in receiving the connection signal 310, the anti-burn-in program 233 switches from the program screen 112 to the default desktop and captures the desktop screen 111 after a preset time has elapsed.

After switching to the desktop screen 111, the anti-burn-in program 233 captures the desktop screen 111 and records the captured screen as the protection screen 130. The anti-burn-in program 233 is based on the panel information of the display screen 100. The anti-burn-in program 233 generates a playback path 420 based on the panel properties. The playback path 420 includes horizontal movement, vertical movement, diagonal movement or a combination thereof, so that the playback path 420 forms a closed path. The display screen can move in a loop along the playback path 420. The anti-burn-in program 233 can read the panel information at the beginning of execution, or read the panel information when the receiving connection signal is interrupted.

In some embodiments, the anti-burn-in program 233 selects one of the current resolution or the maximum resolution. In addition to selecting at least one pixel as the unit displacement distance 410, the anti-burn-in program 233 can calculate a unit displacement distance 410 according to the selected resolution. The anti-burn-in program 233 calculates the number of pixels per inch (PPI) of the corresponding display screen 100 with the selected resolution. The comprehensive length of the playback path 420 can also be determined according to one of the current resolution or the maximum resolution.

The anti-burn-in program 233 searches for a level table (not shown), which records multiple PPIs and the number of pixels corresponding thereto. The anti-burn-in program 233 selects the corresponding number of pixels as a single displacement distance 410 according to the PPI and the level table. The single displacement distance 410 is the displacement distance between two consecutive protection screens 130, see FIG4 . FIG4 is a schematic diagram of the protection screen 130 after it has moved horizontally a single displacement distance 410.

Next, the anti-burn-in program 233 selects multiple directional movements from horizontal movement, vertical movement or diagonal movement. The anti-burn-in program 233 can form a closed path for the selected directional movements, or the user can arrange the selected directional movements by himself. To further explain the playback path 420, please refer to Figures 5 and 6. Figure 5 selects any area and one of the pixels (i.e., the gray square in Figure 5) in the protection screen 130 as the starting point of the playback path 420, so as to move the entire protection screen 130. The arrows in the playback path 420 represent movements in different directions.

In FIG. 5 , the playback path 420 is a 4*4 pixel closed path, which means two groups of horizontal movement and two groups of vertical movement. And the anti-burn-in program 233 selects "1" pixel as a single displacement distance 410. After a specified time, the anti-burn-in program 233 moves the protection screen 130 by "1" single displacement distance 410 and plays it on the display screen 100. The movement is to play the protection screen 130 at different positions at different times, as shown in FIG. 6 . FIG. 6 takes the desktop screen 111 of the Microsoft Windows operating system 231 as the default desktop, and takes the default desktop as the protection screen 130 as an example. The protection screen 130 will be displayed on the display screen 100 on the playback path 420 in a time-sharing manner. When the viewer observes from a microscopic perspective, the protection screen 130 moves. From a macroscopic perspective, since the protection screen 130 moves by a distance 410 per pixel, the viewer cannot easily perceive the change. In addition, the anti-burn-in program 233 can also determine the frame number of the protection screen 130 when it moves according to the refresh rate or response time.

In some embodiments, when one edge of the protection screen 130 moves out of the side of the display screen 100, the anti-burn-in program 233 can play the edge of the removed protection screen 130 from the other side of the display screen 100. For example, when part of the protection screen 130 moves out of the right side of the display screen 100, the removed protection screen 130 will be displayed on the left side of the display screen 100.

In some embodiments, when the anti-burn-in program 233 executes step S260, the anti-burn-in program 233 still detects whether the communication unit 210 receives the connection signal 310 again, as shown in FIG7 . When the communication unit 210 receives the connection signal 310 again, the anti-burn-in program 233 stops playing the protection screen 130 on the display screen 100. The anti-burn-in program 233 calls the application program executed before playing the protection screen 130, so that the working environment of the application program is displayed on the display screen 100 (corresponding to step S261). If there is no aforementioned application program being executed, the anti-burn-in program 233 will display the default desktop.

In some embodiments, when the anti-burn-in program 233 first obtains the protection screen 130, the anti-burn-in program 233 records the overall brightness value of the protection screen 130. When the protection screen 130 moves along the playback path 420, the anti-burn-in program 233 obtains the current brightness value of the protection screen 130 at the new position. The anti-burn-in program 233 compares the overall brightness value with the current brightness value to see if they are consistent. If the overall brightness value is inconsistent with the current brightness value, the anti-burn-in program 233 adjusts the current brightness value to be consistent with the overall brightness value.

232。The processing system 1000 and method for preventing display burn-in provide a computer host 200 and method for detecting a connection signal 310 to prevent screen burn-in. The computer host 200 can trigger the anti-burn-in program 233 immediately when the user leaves, and generate a playback path 420 with the panel properties of the display screen 100. The computer host 200 captures the default desktop of the operating system 231, and plays the captured desktop screen 111 along the playback path 420. Since the desktop screen 111 is played with a pixel spacing distance, it can be ensured that each pixel on the liquid crystal panel has a change operation. And playing with the desktop screen 111 can also ensure that other users cannot view the application 232 operated by the user.
