Abstract

The invention relates to a manufacturing method and a structure of a steel wire type locomotive wheel rim. Primarily, an aluminum extruded bar is combined into a circular shape by friction stir welding (Friction Stir Welding, FSW). A plurality of steel wire seats is formed equidistantly on an inner edge of the aluminum extruded bar, and a steel wire fixing hole is formed in each steel wire seat. The aluminum extruded bar is combined with an inner edge of a wheel rim by means of friction stir welding (Friction Stir Welding, FSW). After the wheel rim is processed and a valve hole is formed on the wheel rim, each steel wire seat formed on the inner edge of the aluminum extruded bar is assembled with a steel wire. The steel wire is fixed by the steel wire fixing hole in the steel wire seat, and then each steel wire is fixed with a wheel hub.
