Description

Key structure

The present invention relates to a key structure.

In terms of current computer usage habits, the keyboard is one of the indispensable input devices. Both the computer itself and its peripheral products are developing towards the design concept of light, thin, short and small. The keyboard has also changed from the early large structure to a thin keyboard. Thin keyboards usually use a membrane circuit board, also known as a membrane keyboard. The main components of a membrane keyboard include a membrane circuit board, an elastic member and a keycap. The switch of the membrane circuit board is triggered by pressing the keycap, and the elastic member provides the force for the keycap to return to its original position.

Generally speaking, each key of a membrane keyboard can only generate a single trigger signal. In other words, when one of the keys is pressed, the same input signal is generated. Therefore, a single key can only generate a single input signal. For some function keys, a single function must be set with a corresponding key, so the overall configuration of the membrane keyboard cannot be reduced, and there is room for improvement.

In view of the above problems, the main purpose of the present invention is to provide a key structure, through a novel design of a circuit board and an elastic member, to solve the problem that the conventional key structure lacks multiple trigger functions.

In order to better understand the technical content of the present invention, the preferred specific embodiments are described as follows.

FIG1 is a schematic diagram of the exploded key structure of the first embodiment of the present invention, FIG2 is a cross-sectional diagram of the key structure shown in FIG1 after assembly, and FIG3 is a schematic diagram of the elastic member shown in FIG1. Please refer to FIG1, FIG2 and FIG3. In this embodiment, the key structure 1 includes a key cap 10, a circuit board 20 and an elastic member 30. Among them, the key structure 1 can be applied to a membrane keyboard. Generally speaking, a membrane keyboard also has a bottom plate and a scissor-type connector (not shown), and the circuit board 20 is arranged on the bottom plate, and the scissor-type connector connects the key cap 10 and the bottom plate. Specifically, the bottom plate has a hook for connecting the scissor-type connector, and the circuit board 20 may have a plurality of openings (not shown) corresponding to the hook, so that one end of the scissor-type connector can be assembled to the bottom plate. The other end of the scissor-type connector is connected to the key cap 10, so that the key cap 10 is connected to the bottom plate through the scissor-type connector, and can be raised and lowered relative to the bottom plate by the guidance of the scissor-type connector.

Furthermore, the circuit board 20 of the present embodiment may be a thin film circuit board (or thin film switch circuit board). In the present embodiment, the circuit board 20 includes an upper conductive circuit layer 21, a spacer layer 22, and a lower conductive circuit layer 23. Among them, the spacer layer 22 includes a hollow portion 221. The surfaces corresponding to the upper conductive circuit layer 21 and the lower conductive circuit layer 23 respectively have conductive circuits (for example, circuits configured with silver paste wires), which are at least partially located in the hollow portion 221. Taking FIG. 2 as an example, an upper conductive circuit 211 is provided on the lower surface of the upper conductive circuit layer 21, and is partially located in the hollow portion 221. A lower conductive circuit 231 is provided on the upper surface of the lower conductive circuit layer 23, and is partially located in the hollow portion 221. When the key cap 10 is pressed, the elastic member 30 presses down the upper conductive circuit layer 21, causing the upper conductive circuit layer 21 to deform toward the hollow portion 221, thereby causing the upper conductive circuit 211 to contact with the lower conductive circuit layer 23 and conduct, thereby generating a key signal. In this embodiment, the structure used for conduction is called a trigger switch 24. That is, the trigger switch 24 of this embodiment is formed by the upper conductive circuit 211 of the upper conductive circuit layer 21, the hollow portion 221 of the spacer layer 22, and the lower conductive circuit 231 of the lower conductive circuit layer 23. In other words, the circuit board 20 of the present embodiment includes the trigger switch 24, and the trigger switch 24 is disposed on the circuit board 20. In other embodiments, the circuit board 20 may also be a printed circuit board, and the trigger switch 24 may be a micro switch or an optical switch, and the present invention is not limited thereto.

FIG. 4 is a top view of the circuit board shown in FIG. 1 , please refer to FIG. 2 and FIG. 4 . In this embodiment, the circuit board 20 further includes a conductive circuit group 25, which is disposed on the upper surface of the circuit board 20. That is, the conductive circuit group 25 is disposed on the upper surface of the upper conductive circuit layer 21. Among them, the conductive circuit group 25 includes a first conductive circuit 251 and a second conductive circuit 252. In this embodiment, the upper conductive circuit 211, the lower conductive circuit 231, the first conductive circuit 251 and the second conductive circuit 252 can all be circuits configured with silver paste wires, for example. In actual implementation, circuits of other materials, such as copper wires, can also be used as required, and the present invention is not limited. In addition, the first conductive circuit 251 and the second conductive circuit 252 have a gap 253. That is, the first conductive circuit 251 and the second conductive circuit 252 are separated from each other and do not touch each other but have a gap 253. It should be noted that the shape of the circuit board 20 may correspond to a membrane keyboard, such as a rectangle, and the present figure only shows a portion of the structure of the circuit board 20 corresponding to one of the key structures 1 .

FIG5A is a partially enlarged schematic diagram of the key structure shown in FIG2 , please refer to FIG1 , FIG2 , FIG3 and FIG5A . The elastic member 30 is disposed between the circuit board 20 and the key cap 10 . In the present embodiment, the elastic member 30 is a rubber dome, which includes a top portion 31 , an inclined wall portion 32 and a conductive column 33 . The top portion 31 has a top surface 311 and a bottom surface 312 opposite to each other. The top surface 311 is in contact with the key cap 10 . It should be noted that the elastic member 30 shown in FIG3 is the bottom surface 312 of the top portion 31 , so only the bottom surface 312 is marked. One end of the inclined wall portion 32 is connected to an outer edge of the top portion 31 , and the other end is disposed on the circuit board 20 . The top portion 31 and the interior of the inclined wall portion 32 together form a hollow structure, which serves as a space for the elastic member 30 to collapse and deform when pressed downward.

221。The conductive column 33 is connected to the bottom surface 312 of the top portion 31, so that the conductive column 33 faces the circuit board 20. That is, the conductive column 33 is a protrusion extending from the bottom surface 312 of the top portion 31 toward the circuit board 20. In addition, the conductive column 33 corresponds to the trigger switch 24. In this embodiment, it means that the conductive column 33 corresponds to the hollow portion 221 of the spacer layer 22.

In addition, the elastic member 30 of this embodiment further includes at least one conductive portion 34. The conductive portion 34 is disposed on the bottom surface 312 of the top portion 31, and the position of the conductive portion 34 corresponds to a portion of the first conductive circuit 251, the second conductive circuit 252 and the interval 253 of the conductive circuit group 25 (please refer to FIG. 4 for the position of the interval 253). In this embodiment, the conductive portion 34 is distributed over the entire bottom surface 312 of the top portion 31, so the bottom surface 312 and the conductive portion 34 in FIG. 3 are marked at the same place. In addition, the conductive portion 34 avoids the position of the conductive column 33. That is, the conductive portion 34 is located between the outer edge of the conductive column 33 and the inclined wall portion 32. The conductive portion 34 of this embodiment is a carbon ink. For example, the bottom surface 312 of the top portion 31 is coated with carbon ink by spraying or printing to form the conductive portion 34 of this embodiment. In other embodiments, the conductive portion 34 may also be made of other conductive materials or be arranged in other ways, and the present invention is not limited thereto.

Since the conductive portion 34 is located at the bottom surface 312 of the top portion 31, and the conductive column 33 is a protrusion extending toward the circuit board 20, the conductive column 33 is closer to the circuit board 20 than the conductive portion 34. FIG. 5B and FIG. 5C are schematic diagrams of the key structure shown in FIG. 5A when it is pressed, please refer to FIG. 5A, FIG. 5B and FIG. 5C. When the key cap 10 is pressed, the key cap 10 can press the top portion 31 of the elastic member 30 downward, and the inclined wall portion 32 is deformed and causes the conductive column 33 to move downward. The conductive column 33 first presses the upper conductive circuit 211 downward. The upper conductive circuit 211 is deformed toward the hollow portion 221 under pressure, so that the upper conductive circuit 211 in the hollow portion 221 can be in contact with the lower conductive circuit layer 23 and conduct, as shown in FIG5B. That is, the conductive pillar 33 triggers the trigger switch 24, and then a first input signal can be generated. If the key cap 10 is continuously pressed, the inclined wall portion 32 continues to deform, so that the conductive portion 34 located on the bottom surface 312 moves further downward to the circuit board 20, until the conductive portion 34 contacts part of the first conductive circuit 251, part of the second conductive circuit 252 and the interval 253 of the conductive circuit set 25, please refer to FIG4 and FIG5C. At this time, the first conductive circuit 251 and the second conductive circuit 252 in the conductive circuit set 25, which were originally separated from each other, are connected due to the overlapping of the conductive portion 34, thereby generating a second input signal.

In this embodiment, the first input signal can be an input signal of a character corresponding to the key structure 1, and the second input signal can be an input signal for executing a function. The key structure 1 is set to the character a and also serves as a power key. When the key structure 1 is pressed, because the conductive column 33 is closer to the circuit board 20, the input signal of the character a (i.e., the first input signal) is generated first, and then when the conductive part 34 contacts the conductive circuit group 25, the input signal for turning on or off the power (and the second input signal) is generated. In other embodiments, it can also be preset that the second input signal is generated only after a specific time (e.g., 3 seconds) has passed since the conductive part 34 contacts the conductive circuit group 25, and the present invention is not limited thereto. Therefore, by designing the conducting circuit set 25 and the conducting portion 34 of the circuit board 20, the key structure 1 can generate two different input signals to achieve the effect of multiple trigger functions.

Preferably, the elastic member 30 further includes a recess 35 disposed on the top surface 311 of the top portion 31. Preferably, the recess 35 and the conductive pillar 33 are disposed on the top surface 311 and the bottom surface 312 of the top portion 31 in correspondence with each other. In other words, the recess 35 is disposed on the top surface 311, and the conductive pillar 33 is disposed on the bottom surface 312, and the recess 35 and the conductive pillar 33 correspond to each other. When the elastic member 30 is compressed, the conductive pillar 33 can be compressed and deformed upwards by the design of the recess 35. As shown in FIG. 5C , when the conductive pillar 33 is limited by the circuit board 20 and cannot move downward, it can move or deform toward the recess 35 so that the conductive portion 34 can move closer to the circuit board 20 to facilitate contact between the conductive portion 34 and the conductive circuit assembly 25 for conduction.

As shown in FIG. 5A , the concave portion 35 of this embodiment includes a first portion 351 and a second portion 352. The first portion 351 is close to the top surface 311 of the top portion 31, and the second portion 352 is close to the bottom surface 312. The inner diameter of the first portion 351 is different from the inner diameter of the second portion 352. In this embodiment, the inner diameter of the first portion 351 is larger than the inner diameter of the second portion 352, and the inner diameter of the second portion 352 increases gradually from the bottom surface 312 to the top surface 311.

FIG6 is a schematic diagram of the elastic member of the second embodiment of the present invention, please refer to FIG6. In this embodiment, the elastic member 30a also includes a top portion 31a, a slanted wall portion 32a, a conductive column 33a, a conductive portion 34a and a recess 35a. The recess 35a and the conductive column 33a are also symmetrically arranged on the top surface 311a and the bottom surface 312a of the top portion 31a, and the recess 35a includes a first portion 351a and a second portion 352a. The main difference between the elastic member 30a of this embodiment and the elastic member 30 of the first embodiment is that the inner diameter of the first portion 351a of the recess 35a is smaller than the inner diameter of the second portion 352a. In this embodiment, the inner diameter of the second portion 352a gradually increases from the bottom surface 312a to the top surface 311a. Preferably, the inner diameter of the first portion 351a is smaller than a width of the conductive pillar 33a. Moreover, the maximum inner diameter of the second portion 352a is preferably equal to the maximum width of the conductive pillar 33a (i.e., the width of the conductive pillar 33a connected to the bottom surface 312a).

In this embodiment, the elastic member 30b also includes a top portion 31b, a slanted wall portion 32b, a conductive column 33b, a conductive portion 34b and a recess 35b. Among them, the recess 35b also includes a first portion 351b and a second portion 352b, and the inner diameter of the first portion 351b is also smaller than the inner diameter of the second portion 352b. Similarly, the inner diameter of the first portion 351b is smaller than the width of the conductive column 33b, and the maximum inner diameter of the second portion 352b is equal to the maximum width of the conductive column 33b. The main difference between the elastic member 30b of this embodiment and the elastic member 30a of the second embodiment is that the inner diameter of the second portion 352b gradually decreases from the bottom surface 312b toward the top surface 311b.

FIG8 is a schematic diagram of the elastic member of the fourth embodiment of the present invention, please refer to FIG8. In this embodiment, the elastic member 30c also includes a top portion 31c, a slanted wall portion 32c, a conductive column 33c, a conductive portion 34c and a recess 35c. Among them, the recess 35c also includes a first portion 351c and a second portion 352c. Similarly, the inner diameter of the first portion 351c is smaller than the width of the conductive column 33c. The main difference between the elastic member 30c of this embodiment and the elastic member 30a of the second embodiment is that the inner diameter of the second portion 352c is substantially the same, so that the second portion 352c has a vertical side wall. In addition, the inner diameter of the second portion 352c is equal to the maximum width of the conductive column 33c.

FIG9 is a schematic diagram of the elastic member of the fifth embodiment of the present invention, please refer to FIG9. In this embodiment, the elastic member 30d also includes a top portion 31d, a slanted wall portion 32d, a conductive column 33d, a conductive portion 34d and a recess 35d. Among them, the recess 35d also includes a first portion 351d and a second portion 352d. The main difference between the elastic member 30d of this embodiment and the elastic member 30c of the fourth embodiment is that the second portion 352d has an arc-shaped side wall. Similarly, the inner diameter of the first portion 351d is smaller than the width of the conductive column 33d, and the maximum inner diameter of the second portion 352d is equal to the maximum width of the conductive column 33d.

FIG10 is a schematic diagram of the elastic member of the sixth embodiment of the present invention, please refer to FIG10. In this embodiment, the number of the conductive parts 34e of the elastic member 30e is plural, and the plural conductive parts 34e are arranged at intervals on the bottom surface 312e of the top 31e. Preferably, the conductive parts 34e are also distributed between the outer edge of the conductive column 33e and the inclined wall part 32e. The present invention does not limit the number of conductive parts 34e, and only needs to correspond to part of the first conductive circuit 251 and part of the second conductive circuit 252 of the conductive circuit group 25 (please refer to FIG4), so that the first conductive circuit 251 and the second conductive circuit 252 can be conductive to generate the second input signal.

FIG11 is a schematic diagram of the elastic member of the seventh embodiment of the present invention, please refer to FIG11. The elastic member 30f of this embodiment also includes a top portion 31f, an inclined wall portion 32f, a conductive column 33f, a conductive portion 34f and a recessed portion 35f. In addition, the conductive portion 34f is disposed on the bottom surface 312f of the top portion 31f. The main difference between the elastic member 30f of this embodiment and the elastic member 30 of the first embodiment is that the conductive portion 34f of the elastic member 30f has a convex portion 341f, which is located on a surface of the conductive portion 34f facing the circuit board 20 (please refer to FIG1 and FIG2 for the position of the circuit board 20). In other words, the convex portion 341f is located on the lower surface of the conductive portion 34f. Please refer to FIG. 4 , FIG. 5B and FIG. 5C . Since the conductive circuit set 25 is slightly recessed along with the upper conductive circuit layer 21 , the setting of the protrusion 341f can ensure that the conductive portion 34f contacts the first conductive circuit 251 and the second conductive circuit 252 at the interval 253 at the same time, so that the conductive circuit set 25 is turned on and generates a second input signal.

The lower surface of the protrusion 341f can be an arc-shaped surface, or composed of at least one inclined surface. In other words, the protrusion 341f has an arc-shaped surface, or at least one inclined surface. In this embodiment, the lower surface of the protrusion 341f is an arc-shaped surface.

Furthermore, the inner diameter of the recess 35f of this embodiment is substantially the same, and has vertical side walls. In other words, the difference from the above-mentioned embodiment is that the recess 35f of this embodiment does not include the first part and the second part.

The elastic member 30g of this embodiment also includes a top portion 31g, an inclined wall portion 32g, a conductive column 33g and a conductive portion 34g, and the conductive portion 34g is arranged on the bottom surface 312g of the top portion 31g. The difference between the elastic member 30g of this embodiment and the elastic member 30f of the seventh embodiment is that the convex portion 341g of the conductive portion 34g has two inclined surfaces. As shown in FIG12, the lower surface of the convex portion 341g is two connected inclined surfaces, so that the entire convex portion 341g forms a structure similar to a triangular prism.

The elastic member 30h of this embodiment also includes a top portion 31h, an inclined wall portion 32h, a conductive column 33h and a conductive portion 34h, and the conductive portion 34h is arranged on the bottom surface 312h of the top portion 31h. The difference between the elastic member 30h of this embodiment and the elastic member 30g of the eighth embodiment is that the convex portion 341h of the conductive portion 34h has two inclined surfaces and a flat surface. As shown in FIG13, the lower surface of the convex portion 341h is formed by two inclined surfaces and a flat surface. Among them, the middle of the convex portion 341h is a flat surface, and the inclined surfaces are respectively connected to the opposite sides, so that the convex portion 341h forms a structure similar to a trapezoidal column.

In summary, according to the key structure of the present invention, it includes a key cap, a circuit board and an elastic member.
