Abstract

This disclosure is related to a device, method, and computer program product for analyzing historical hi-low information of stock investment. The device includes one or more processors, a screen, and a memory. The memory stores an application program. The application program includes an individual stock quoting module and a historical hi-low chart module. The disclosure generates a historical hi-low chart which enables user to recognize the present value among the historical high and the historical low by visualization.

Description

Device, method and computer program product for visualizing historical stock interval information

The present invention relates to a computer program for analyzing and displaying stock quote information, and in particular to a device, method and computer program product for visualizing stock historical interval information.

Stock investors usually need to analyze a large amount of relevant stock information before investing. However, much stock information is presented in the form of data, which makes it difficult for users to evaluate whether the current data is good or bad.

Prior art 1, Republic of China Patent Publication No. I778275 discloses "a device and method for simple stock selection based on financial conditions", the method comprising: establishing a connection with a server; downloading a financial report of each first selected company; generating a financial report view based on the financial report of the first selected company; receiving a selection financial value instruction to obtain a first financial item corresponding to a first selected financial value; receiving a condition generation instruction to generate the first financial item and the first selected financial value into a first financial condition; and transmitting the first financial condition to a data screening module for screening. Figure 3A in the specification of the previous technology 1 presents stock information in the form of data. The figure shows the financial profitability information, including gross profit margin, operating profit margin, net profit margin before tax, net profit margin after tax and EPS. The purpose of the previous technology 1 is to solve the problem of "how to allow users to easily set financial conditions for screening". The technical means of the previous technology 1 is "selecting financial conditions by the WYSIWYG method", and the technical effect achieved by the previous technology 1 is "users only need to select a company first, and then select the company's financial conditions by the WYSIWYG method to achieve customized screening conditions for stock selection".

In other words, the technology that was improved in the previous technology is "selecting stocks with customized screening conditions", not the technology of visualizing information presentation. Therefore, Figure 3A presents financial information in the form of data and lacks visual presentation effect. Due to the limitation of the previous technology, it is difficult for users to evaluate the quality of the data when observing the stock information in the form of data.

Therefore, it is necessary to improve the previous technical methods and propose a technology for visualizing stock historical interval information with the resources of hardware and software working together, so that users can easily observe and evaluate the position of a certain stock information in the historical interval through visual representation, and assist users in making investment decisions, so as to make up for the shortcomings of previous technologies.

In view of this, the present invention proposes a device, method and computer program product for visualizing stock historical interval information, which uses a method of visualizing information to mark the highest value, lowest value and latest value of the historical interval.

The present invention provides a device for visualizing stock historical interval information, which includes: a communication module for establishing an Internet network connection; a stock quotation module for downloading a stock quotation message from the server and generating a stock quotation view based on the message to display on the screen, wherein the quotation message includes one or more stock data items and a corresponding latest value; a historical interval chart module for downloading a historical high value and a historical low value corresponding to a time period according to the stock data items and generating a stock quotation view based on the message; A historical interval chart is generated based on the above, wherein the historical high value is marked at one end and the historical low value is marked at the other end, and a striking mark is marked at the position corresponding to the latest value in proportion to the size; a memory is used to store an application and the quotation message, wherein the application includes the stock quotation module and the historical interval chart module; a screen is used to display the graphical user interface of the application; and one or more processors are connected to the memory and the screen and execute the application.

The present invention further goes a step further, in some embodiments, wherein the eye-catching mark is selected from: a symbol mark, an icon mark, a text mark and a numerical mark.

The present invention further goes a step further. In some embodiments, the historical interval graph not only marks the historical high value and the historical low value at both ends, but also marks an intermediate value in the middle of the historical interval graph.

The present invention further goes a step further, in some embodiments, one of the corresponding stock data items and the latest value are also labeled next to the historical interval chart.

The present invention further provides that in some embodiments, when one of the individual stock data items is related to a buy/sell quantity, the historical interval chart uses a red line segment to represent a buy/sell interval and a green line segment to represent a sell/sell interval.

The present invention further goes a step further, in some embodiments, when one of the individual stock data items is related to the buy/sell quantity, the historical interval chart uses a third color to draw a middle line between the red line segment and the green line segment to indicate the position where the value is zero.

The present invention further provides that in some embodiments, the middle line representing a value of zero is set in the middle of the historical interval graph, and an ellipsis symbol is added to the left and right ends.

The present invention further provides that in some embodiments, the middle line representing a value of zero is set in the middle of the historical interval graph, and an ellipsis symbol is added at the end position of the historical high value or the historical low value with a larger absolute value on the left and right ends.

The present invention also proposes a method for visualizing stock historical interval information, which is applied to a device, the device comprising a communication module, a memory and a screen, the method comprising: the device establishes a connection with a server and downloads a quote message of a stock and generates a stock quote view based on it and displays it on the screen, the quote message comprising one to a plurality of stock data items and a corresponding latest value; the device downloads a historical high value and a historical low value corresponding to a time period based on the stock data items and generates a historical interval chart based on them, the historical interval chart marks the historical high value at one end and the historical low value at the other end, and marks a striking mark at the position corresponding to the latest value according to the size ratio.

The present invention further goes a step further, in some embodiments, wherein the eye-catching mark is selected from: a symbol mark, an icon mark, a text mark and a numerical mark.

The present invention is applicable to but not limited to personal computers (PC/MAC), laptops (Laptop/Notebook/Portable Computer), smart phones (Smartphone), tablet computers (Tablet PC), handheld stock quoting devices (Hand-Held Stock Quoting Device), personal digital assistants (PDA), smart TVs (Smart TV)... etc. Any device equipped with a screen and capable of executing the application of the present invention (i.e., stock quotation software or stock trading software) can apply the device and method of the present invention.

Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the system function block diagram of the device 10 for visualizing stock history interval information of the present invention and the system function block diagram of an embodiment application 20, the legend only lists the core modules related to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and the remaining modules are omitted and not described. The embodiment application 20 is executed on the device 10 for visualizing stock history interval information of the present invention. In an embodiment of the present invention, the device 10 for visualizing stock history interval information of the present invention includes: one or more processors 12, a memory 14, a screen 16 and a communication module 18. The memory 14 stores the application 20; the processor 12 executes the multiple program instructions contained in the application 20, and implements the following modules in a hardware and software collaborative operation: individual stock quotation module 22, historical interval chart module 24; the screen 16 is used to display the graphical user interface (GUI) of the application 20, and in some embodiments, it further includes: processing touch operation events, such as being used in touch-screen devices such as smart phones, tablet computers, etc.; the communication module 18 is used to establish an Internet network connection, such as: wired broadband, WLAN (Wi-Fi, etc.), mobile communication network (such as 3G, 4G, 5G, etc.), etc.

Continuing to refer to Figure 2, the system function block diagram of the application 20 of an embodiment of the present invention includes a client application 20 (running on the device 10 for visualizing stock historical interval information), and the application 20 includes: a stock quote module 22 and a historical interval chart module 24. The figure only lists the core modules related to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and the remaining modules are omitted and not described, such as: login verification module, international financial quote module, optional quote subscription module, detailed quote module, stock news module, accounting module... etc. (belonging to the known technology).

The stock quotation module 22 is used to download the stock quotation message from the server and generate the stock quotation view 26 to be displayed on the screen 16, as shown in Figure 3 or Figure 4. In some embodiments, the quotation message includes one or more stock data items and the corresponding latest values, that is, each stock data item has a corresponding latest value. The so-called stock data items are data related to the stock, including intraday real-time data and post-market data, such as: trading volume, transaction price, price-earnings ratio, intraday trading volume, foreign capital inflow and outflow, investment trust inflow and outflow, proprietary trader inflow and outflow, stock price-to-book ratio, dividend rate, closing price, revenue, gross profit margin, operating profit margin, net profit margin, etc., and the quotation message also includes the latest values corresponding to all stock data items.

The historical interval chart module 24 downloads the historical high value and historical low value of the corresponding designated time period (e.g., half a year/1 year/2 years/3 years) according to the individual stock data items and generates a historical interval chart 28 accordingly. The historical high value is the highest value in the time period, and the historical low value is the lowest value in the time period. The historical interval chart marks the historical high value at one end (i.e., the right end of the horizontal type, or the top end of the vertical type) and the historical low value at the other end (i.e., the left end of the horizontal type, or the bottom end of the vertical type), and marks a striking mark 30 at the position corresponding to the latest value according to the size ratio (see Figures 5A to 5G). The so-called proportionality means that "the position corresponding to the latest value is based on the historical high value and historical low value at both ends of the historical interval graph", that is, the latest value is located at a relative position of the "historical interval" (size) formed by the historical high value and the historical low value. The eye-catching mark 30 representing the latest value can be: a symbol mark, an icon mark, a text mark, and a numerical mark. In some embodiments, in addition to marking the two data values of the historical high value and the historical low value, the historical interval graph 28 also marks the middle value in the middle of the graph, as shown in Figures 5B to 5H. In some embodiments, the data values (e.g., historical high value, historical low value, median value) indicated by the historical interval chart 28 are on one side of the chart, and the eye-catching mark 30 representing the latest value is located on the other side of the chart. For example, when the historical interval chart 28 is a horizontal chart, the data values are set at the bottom of the chart, and the eye-catching mark 30 is set at the top of the chart, as shown in Figures 5A to 5H. In some embodiments, when the stock data item is about the buy and sell quantity (i.e., a positive value when buying and a negative value when selling), the historical interval chart 28 uses a red line segment to represent the overbought interval and a green line segment to represent the oversold interval, as shown in Figures 5F and 5G. In some embodiments, when the individual stock data item is about the buy and sell quantity, a middle line is drawn between the red line segment and the green line segment of the historical interval chart using a third color to indicate the separation and to indicate the position where the value is zero. The third color may be white, gray, black, yellow, etc., as shown in Figures 5F and 5G. In some embodiments, the middle line representing a value of zero is set in the middle of the historical interval chart 28, and wavy ellipsis symbols 32 are added at the left and right ends. In other words, even if the data on both sides of the red line segment (representing the overbuying interval) and the green line segment (representing the overselling interval) are not equal or even have a huge difference, the lengths of the line segments on both sides of the historical interval chart 28 are still the same because part of the data is omitted at the left and right ends (i.e., where the ellipsis symbol 32 is marked, see Figure 5G). In some embodiments, the middle line representing a value of zero is set in the middle of the historical interval chart 28, and only one of the left and right ends (i.e., the side with a larger absolute value of the data value) is added with a wavy ellipsis symbol 32 at the end position; in other words, when the data on both sides of the red line segment (representing the buy super interval) and the green line segment (representing the sell super interval) are not equal or even have a huge difference, the length of the line segments on both sides of the historical interval chart 28 is still the same, because the longer end omits part of the data (i.e., the place marked with the ellipsis symbol 32, see Figure 5H).

Referring to FIG. 3, a schematic diagram of a screen 16 of a computer version of historical interval information of an embodiment of the present invention is shown, which illustrates a graphical user interface of an embodiment application 20 displayed on a computer screen 16. The diagram of this embodiment is illustrated by taking a screen 16 of a personal computer as an example, and the present invention is not limited to personal computers. The present invention can also be used in devices such as smart TVs, tablet computers, smart phones, handheld stock machines, personal digital assistants, etc. The example is a personal computer (device 10 for visualizing stock historical interval information) running the application 20 of the present invention (financial trading software or financial quotation software), and the user graphical interface of the TV version (i.e., the application of the present invention running on a smart TV) is not much different, so the TV version can also refer to this diagram. The entire screen of the screen 16 in the example is a quotation view (unnumbered), including: a self-selected quotation view (unnumbered) in the upper left corner, a best five-level view (unnumbered) in the lower left corner, a trend chart view (unnumbered) in the upper right corner, and a stock quotation view 26. The historical interval information of this embodiment is presented in the stock quotation view 26, including: individual stock data items, corresponding data values, and a historical interval chart 28. The time period of the legend is "1 year" (the legend is marked as "the past year period"), so the time period of the historical period chart 28 is one year forward from the date of the day, and the historical high and low values in the time period are marked on the historical period chart 28. The legend only lists a few stock data items (the legend includes: closing price, price-earnings ratio, price-to-book ratio and trading volume) for illustration, and the legend is not used to limit specific stock data items. In some embodiments, the user can use the mouse/keyboard/screen touch to operate other stock data items outside the visible range of the display screen, such as clicking the scroll bar (not marked) with the mouse to scroll up/down the stock quote view 26.

Refer to Figure 4, which is a schematic diagram of a screen 16 of the mobile phone version of historical interval information of an embodiment of the present invention, which illustrates the graphical user interface of an embodiment application 20 displayed on a smart phone screen 16 of the present invention. The diagram of this embodiment is illustrated by taking the screen 16 style of a smart phone as an example. In the example, the entire screen of the screen 16 is a stock quote view 26, and the historical interval information in the lower half of the screen 16 is a part of the stock quote view 26.

Refer to Figure 5A, which is an enlarged schematic diagram (I) of a historical interval diagram 28 of an embodiment of the present invention. Figures 5A to 5E are explained using the historical interval diagram 28 of the "closing price" of the computer version of Figure 3 or the mobile phone version of Figure 4 as an example. For the convenience of explanation, the legend is enlarged and some details not related to the core technology are deliberately omitted. When it is actually displayed on the screen 16, there is no rounded dotted frame in the legend. The legend shows that the historical interval chart 28 at least includes the historical high value (the legend shows "594" on the far right), the historical low value (the legend shows "370" on the far left) in the time period, and the prominent mark 30 (the legend uses an inverted triangle symbol as a mark) corresponding to the latest value (according to Figure 3 or Figure 4, the latest value of the "closing price" is "505") according to the size ratio. The legend does not limit the prominent mark 30 to only an inverted triangle symbol. In some embodiments, the prominent mark 30 can be: a symbol mark, an icon mark, a text mark and a numerical mark, and the symbol mark can be other easily identifiable symbols (such as: diamond, flag, circle, etc.).

Refer to Figure 5B, which is an enlarged schematic diagram (II) of the historical interval diagram 28 of an embodiment of the present invention. The legend explains that in addition to displaying the historical high value and the historical low value, this embodiment also includes a middle value (the legend shows "482" in the middle).

Refer to Figure 5C, which is an enlarged schematic diagram (III) of the historical interval diagram 28 of the embodiment of the present invention. The legend explains that the eye-catching mark 30 of this embodiment can also be a graphic mark. The legend uses a simple downward arrow to represent "graphic mark". In actual application, any other different icons can be used as marks, not limited to downward arrows.

Refer to Figure 5D, which is an enlarged schematic diagram (IV) of the historical interval diagram 28 of the embodiment of the present invention. The legend shows that the eye-catching mark 30 of the present embodiment can also be a text mark. The legend uses the Chinese character "現" as the mark (meaning "present value"), and any other different Chinese characters or English characters can also be used as marks in actual application.

Refer to Figure 5E, which is an enlarged schematic diagram (V) of the historical interval diagram 28 of the embodiment of the present invention. The legend explains that the eye-catching mark 30 of this embodiment can also be a numerical mark. The legend uses the value "505" (i.e., the latest value corresponding to the "closing price" of the day) as the mark. This value is updated and displayed according to the latest value corresponding to the quotation message.

Refer to Figure 5F, which is an enlarged schematic diagram of the historical interval chart 28 of the embodiment of the present invention (VI). Figures 5F to 5H are used as an example to illustrate the historical interval chart 28 of the "Foreign Capital Inflow and Outflow Volume" of the computer version of Figure 3 or the mobile version of Figure 4. Any other stock data items related to the purchase and sale quantity (i.e., positive value when buying and negative value when selling) can also be applied to this example, such as: the inflow and outflow volume of the three major legal persons, the increase or decrease of financing, the increase or decrease of short selling, the main buying and selling excess... etc. The historical range chart 28 of this embodiment uses red line segments (the figure is presented in gray, so black represents red) to represent the overbought range and green line segments (gray represents green in the figure) to represent the oversold range, and draws the middle line (the position marked "0" in the figure) with a third color to indicate the position where the value is zero. The third color is white, gray, black, yellow, etc. (white in the figure). This embodiment draws the line segments of the overbought range and the oversold range in proportion to the historical high and low values, so the line segments of the two must be unequal in length (the overbought range on the right is longer in the figure).

Refer to Figure 5G, which is an enlarged schematic diagram (VII) of the historical interval diagram 28 of the embodiment of the present invention. The difference between this embodiment and Figure 5F is that the two line segments of the over-buy interval and the over-sell interval are drawn with equal lengths, and the middle line representing the value of zero is set in the middle of the historical interval diagram 28, and the left and right ends are added with wavy ellipsis symbols 32.

Refer to Figure 5H, the enlarged schematic diagram (eight) of the historical interval diagram 28 of the embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment is different from Figure 5G in that only one of the left and right ends is added with a wave-shaped ellipsis symbol 32. This embodiment adds a wave-shaped ellipsis symbol 32 at the end position of "the side with the larger absolute value of the data value" (in the example, the data value "81,000" of the over-buy interval on the right is larger). The drawing method of the historical interval diagram 28 of this embodiment still makes the two line segments of the over-buy interval and the over-sell interval equal in length.

Refer to Figure 6, an operation flow chart of an application 20 of an embodiment of the present invention, the operation flow of a user using a device (such as a personal computer/smart TV/smart phone/tablet computer/stock machine) to execute the application 20 and then switch to the historical interval information of a certain stock, please also refer to Figures 1 to 5H, which include:

Step S101: Execute the application 20 of an embodiment of the present invention on the device 10. The user executes the application 20 (stock quotation software or stock trading software) of the present invention on the device 10 for visualizing stock historical interval information.

Step S102: The device 10 establishes a connection with the server. The device 10 establishes a connection with the server (i.e., the quotation server) through the communication module 18. In some embodiments, after the connection is established, a login verification procedure needs to be entered (which is a known technique and will not be described in detail).

Step S103: The device 10 downloads the stock quote message and generates the stock quote view 26 based on it and displays it on the screen 16. When the user operates the menu (not shown, it belongs to the known technology) or clicks on a stock in the self-selected quote view (as shown in the upper left corner of Figure 3) to switch to the stock quote view 26, the stock quote module 22 of the device 10 downloads the stock quote message from the server and generates the stock quote view 26 based on it and displays it on the screen 16, as shown in Figure 3 or Figure 4. In some embodiments, the quote message includes individual stock data items and the corresponding latest values, such as trading volume, transaction price, price-earnings ratio, intraday trading volume, foreign capital inflow and outflow, investment trust inflow and outflow, proprietary trader inflow and outflow, stock price-to-book value ratio, dividend rate, closing price, revenue, gross profit margin, operating profit margin, net profit margin, etc.

Step S104: the device 10 downloads the historical high value and the historical low value of the corresponding time period according to the individual stock data item and generates a historical interval graph 28 to be displayed in the individual stock quotation view 26. If the user wants to view the historical interval information of a stock, in some embodiments, when switching to the stock quote view 26, the historical interval information is displayed by default, as shown in the lower right corner of Figure 3; in some embodiments, the user needs to click a tab in the stock quote view 26 (as shown in Figure 4) or use a menu (not depicted) to switch to display the historical interval information; in some embodiments, the historical interval information can be set under "Stock Diagnosis" or "Stock Health Diagnosis" (not depicted), that is, the user can click "Stock Diagnosis" or "Stock Health Diagnosis" in the stock quote view 26 to view the historical interval information; in some embodiments, the historical interval information can be set in any sub-menu (not depicted) under the stock quote view 26. After selecting the historical interval information, the historical interval chart module 24 of the device 10 then downloads the historical high and low values of the corresponding specified time period (the example assumes that the system defaults to "1 year") according to the individual stock data items and generates a historical interval chart 28 accordingly; the individual stock data items in Figure 3 include: closing price, price-earnings ratio, price-to-book ratio and trading volume, while the individual stock data items in Figure 4 include: closing price, price-earnings ratio, price-to-book ratio, trading volume, dividend rate and foreign capital inflow and outflow, taking "closing price" as an example for explanation. The historical interval chart module 24 downloads the highest historical closing price and the lowest historical closing price within "1 year" from the server. After downloading, the historical interval chart 28 can be generated and the historical low value and the historical high value are marked on the left and right ends respectively. In addition, a striking mark 30 is marked at the position corresponding to the latest value according to the size ratio. In some embodiments, in addition to marking the two data values of the historical high value and the historical low value, the historical interval chart 28 also marks the middle value in the middle of the chart, as shown in Figures 5B to 5H.

It is understood that the program instructions executed by the computer can implement each block in the flowchart, the combination of blocks in the flowchart, and the steps in each embodiment. The program instructions are provided to a processor to generate a machine or a resource for hardware and software to work together, so that when the instructions are executed on the processor, components for implementing the actions or technical effects specified in the flowchart blocks will be generated. Different sets of program instructions can also enable at least some of the operation steps shown in the flowchart blocks to be performed in parallel, and the technical content expressed by each program instruction of an application program may be different according to different embodiments. Furthermore, some of these steps may be performed on more than one processor, such as when a microprocessor and a peripheral interface processor in the device of the present invention operate in coordination. In addition, one or more blocks or combinations of blocks in the flowchart may be performed simultaneously with other blocks or combinations of blocks, or even in a different order than shown, without departing from the scope or spirit of the present invention.

Therefore, the blocks of the flowchart of the present invention support component combinations for performing specified actions or technical effects, step combinations for performing specified actions or technical effects, and program instruction components for performing specified actions or technical effects. A device for visualizing stock historical interval information, the device comprising: a communication module for establishing an Internet network connection; a stock quote module for downloading a stock quote message from the server and generating a stock quote view based on the message to be displayed on the screen, wherein the quote message includes one or more stock data items and a corresponding latest value; a historical interval chart module for downloading a historical high value and a historical low value corresponding to a time period based on the stock data items and generating a historical interval chart corresponding to each of the stock data items. A graph is generated to generate a plurality of historical interval graphs, each of which marks the historical high value at one end and the historical low value at the other end, and a prominent mark is marked on the historical interval graph at a position corresponding to the latest value in proportion to the size; a memory is used to store an application and the quotation message, the application includes the stock quotation module and the historical interval graph module; a screen is used to display the graphical user interface of the application; and one or more processors are connected to the memory and the screen and execute the application. The device for visualizing stock historical interval information as described in claim 1, wherein the eye-catching mark is selected from: a symbol mark, an icon mark, a text mark, and a numerical mark. The device for visualizing stock historical interval information as described in claim 1, wherein the historical interval chart not only marks the historical high value and the historical low value at both ends, but also marks a middle value in the middle of the historical interval chart. The device for visualizing stock historical interval information as described in claim 1, wherein when one of the individual stock data items is related to the buy/sell quantity, a middle line is drawn between the red line segment and the green line segment in a third color on the historical interval chart to indicate the position where the value is zero. The method comprises: the device establishes a connection with a server and downloads a quote message of a stock and generates a stock quote view based on the quote message and displays it on the screen.
