Description

Connector and connector set with optical fiber connection device

This case relates to a connector, especially a connector with an optical fiber connection device and a connector set.

Optical fiber communication refers to a way of using light and optical fibers to transmit information, which is a kind of wired communication. Light can carry information after being modulated. Due to the advantages of large transmission capacity and good confidentiality, optical fiber communication has gradually become the mainstream wired communication method in recent years, and also plays an extremely important role in the industry.

With the advancement of computer technology and the rapid development of the Internet, the demand for electricity has also risen sharply. In order to provide sufficient power, a plurality of power modules are often configured in the power system cabinet, and most of them are medium-voltage power modules. Since the system control area of the central controller is a low-voltage area, the transmission of signals in the medium-voltage area and the low-voltage area will be restricted by safety regulations. Therefore, the common practice in the industry is to transmit some signals by optical fiber communication to avoid related safe question.

However, there are still shortcomings in the traditional connection method between the medium voltage power module and the optical fiber cable. Please refer to FIG. 1 , which is a schematic diagram showing the connection between a traditional medium voltage power module and an optical fiber cable at the system end. As shown in FIG. 1 , after the conventional medium voltage power supply module 1 is installed in the cabinet, the optical fiber cable 2 from the system end is connected to the conventional medium voltage power supply module 1 at the front of the cabinet through the optical fiber connector 21 . When maintaining the traditional medium voltage power supply module 1, the optical fiber connector 21 and the optical fiber cable 2 must be manually removed from the front of the traditional medium voltage power supply module 1, and the optical fiber cables 2 must be removed one by one. Proper placement is quite time consuming. If the optical fiber cable 2 is forgotten to be removed or not properly placed, the optical fiber cable 2 will be damaged when the traditional medium voltage power supply module 1 is inserted or removed, resulting in higher maintenance costs.

Therefore, how to develop a connector and a connector set with an optical fiber connection device that can effectively solve the problems and shortcomings of the prior art is a problem to be solved at present.

In order to improve the defect caused by the need to unplug the optical fiber cable during the maintenance of the conventional power module, the optical fiber connection device is integrated and embedded in the body of the connector connecting the power module and the system circuit board, that is, the power module is originally installed. An optical fiber connection device is added to the connector of the cabinet and connected to the system circuit board, so that the connection of the optical fiber cable can be completed at the same time when the power module is installed in the cabinet, and the connection of the optical fiber cable can be completed at the same time when the power module is removed for maintenance. The removal of optical fiber cables can effectively improve the maintenance speed and product reliability.

Please refer to FIG. 2 , which is a schematic diagram showing the application of a connector with an optical fiber connection device to the inside of a cabinet according to an embodiment of the present application. To sum up, the present application provides a connector and a connector set with an optical fiber connection device. There is no need to remove the optical fiber cable when plugging and unplugging, which not only improves the aesthetics, but also effectively improves the maintenance speed and product reliability. At the same time, by applying the connectors to the rear of the power module and the system circuit board, when the power module is maintained on the front of the cabinet, the power module can be plugged and unplugged without special plugging and unplugging of the optical fiber cable. In addition, through the guide portion provided by the connector, when the power module is installed, the connector can be guided and connected with the butted connector to assist in positioning.
