Description
本發明係關於聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚醇之製法。本發明之聚合物結構具有具聚內酯側鏈的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯主鏈。此側鏈係藉內酯接枝在存在於聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯主鏈中的親核基上的開環聚合反應而合成。利用本發明之方法,接枝反應高度進行,使得所用的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯起始物完全與內酯反應。此方法之特徵在於不須以獨立的純化步驟移除未反應的內酯。
自1960年代中期以來,以合併聚酯和聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯為基礎之聚合物結構之合成一直是工業發展的標的。此材料的潛在應用包括,例如,分散劑(請參考例如EP 1 555 174)、浸潤組成物(GB 1,007,723)、用於塗料之黏合劑(述於例如DE 2 006 630,JP 09 216 921或DE 4 345 086)或用於黏著劑(述於例如DE 2 006 630)。
聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯和聚酯之目標組合的可能性廣泛。例如,已經由DE 44 27 227知道包含聚酯主鏈和聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯側鏈的系統。
內酯轉化成聚酯之開環反應係以前技術且述於例如Macromolecules 2002,35,1504-1512和Macromol. Chem. Phys. 2001,202,2963-2970。
許多方法可被採用以製造具有聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯主鏈和聚酯側鏈的聚合物結構。
EP 1227113描述藉羥基官能性單體型丙烯酸酯聚合物,如丙烯酸羥乙酯,進行ε-己內酯之開環聚合反應。此反應的產物之後可以,例如,與其他不飽和化合物進行自由基共聚反應。但是,此方法僅能以小量ε-己內酯進行。
類似地,EP 1 464 674揭示藉ε-己內酯改質的乙烯基單體之自由基聚合反應,製造具有聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯主鏈和聚酯側鏈的合併聚合物之方法。這些是ε-己內酯低聚物,其可藉由使用(甲基)丙烯酸羥酯(例如,(甲基)丙烯酸羥丁酯)之開環低聚反應得到。ε-己內酯改質的乙烯基單體為市售品,例如,Daicel Chemical Industries以註冊名稱Placcel F銷售。此方法複雜並因此而花費高。巨單體之純化非常複雜。此外,發現此巨單體僅能以非常有限的程度(最多為10個重覆己內酯單元)取得。
其他方法(例如,JP 06206974中)含括先令ε-己內酯反應而形成均聚物及之後藉二異氰酸酯或聚異氰酸酯,令其偶合至聚丙烯酸酯聚醇。以此方式,能夠得到均聚物比例低的限定產物。此方法的缺點在於獨立製備個別聚合物嵌段及其藉異氰酸酯組份的後續偶合所發生的高技術花費。此外,就毒性觀點,異氰酸酯之處理也是問題。
EP 281 095描述同時主鏈和側鏈聚合反應。其使用具有親核官能性的丙烯酸酯單體,且其在主鏈合成期間內散播,經由內酯的開環,引發側鏈結構。但是,此方法係無法控制的方法,並導致產物混合物有數種極不相同的組份,例如純丙烯酸酯聚合物。就嫻於此技術者而言,此無可避免地導致,在離子性內酯聚合反應條件下,於原處進行的自由基聚合反應無可避免地導致二次反應,如產物的部分膠凝。但是,此種交聯的情況係產物加工的重大缺點,即使其僅小程度發生亦然。此外,所述方法在有機溶劑中操作,此取決於所得聚合物的進一步用途,它們的移除會增加額外成本和人力。
反之,本發明的目的係未膠凝的接枝共聚物之標的合成,該接枝共聚物的(甲基)丙烯酸酯主鏈具有聚內酯側鏈。
訝異地,發現內酯在帶有親核基的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯上之開環聚合反應可用以製造具有聚內酯側鏈和聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯主鏈的多元羥基結構。
據此,本發明先提出一種製備聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物之方法,其包含於溫度≧160℃和壓力≦10毫巴,添加觸媒的條件下,內酯在具有親核基的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯上之開環聚合反應。
本發明之方法的優點在於其執行簡單及在於其不會伴隨任何膠凝或非所欲的交聯。此方法的特點在於不須以獨立的純化步驟移除未反應的內酯。
調合物“聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯”不僅描述聚丙烯酸酯,亦描述聚甲基丙烯酸酯或丙烯酸酯和甲基丙烯酸酯之共聚物。聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯主鏈係以單體或單體混合物為基礎,單體和/或單體混合物特別包含具有親核基的單體。此單體可選自甲基丙烯酸酯和/或丙烯酸酯。親核基較佳選自羥基、胺基和/或巰基。特別佳的親核基是羥基。
特別佳地,親核基藉由含OH基的單體之共聚反應摻入根據本發明使用的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯中。特別佳者係OH官能化的丙烯酸酯和/或甲基丙烯酸酯。較佳例子可為甲基丙烯酸羥乙酯、丙烯酸羥乙酯、甲基丙烯酸羥丙酯、丙烯酸羥丙酯、丙烯酸2,3-二羥丙酯和甲基丙烯酸2,3-二羥丙酯。
以用於合成聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯主鏈的單體總量計,本發明之聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯主鏈中具有親核基的單體的量在0.1重量%至10重量%的範圍內,較佳介於0.1重量%和5.0重量%之間,更佳介於1.0重量%至2.5重量%。
所用聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯預聚物的OH數較佳地介於5毫克KOH/克和40毫克KOH/克之間,更佳介於10毫克KOH/克和35毫克KOH/克之間,特別佳介於15毫克KOH/克和30毫克KOH/克之間。此羥數(OH數)係根據DIN 53240-2測定。

特定言之,依所欲技術功能有利地選擇聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯預聚物的比例和組成。
根據本發明使用的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯預聚物可藉整體、乳化、懸浮、小懸浮或微懸浮或溶液聚合反應製得。所用聚合法可為自由基或控制生長自由基聚合法。控制生長自由基聚合法的例子係氮氧化物(nitroxide)媒介的聚合反應(NMP)和可逆加成-分裂鏈轉移(RAFT)聚合法。
待用的自由基引發劑取決於選擇的聚合法或聚合技術。待用的特別引發劑為嫻於此技術者已知者和/或述於嫻於此技術者一般知道的聚合物文獻者。例如,於自由基溶液或懸浮液聚合法中,通常使用偶氮化合物(如AIBN)或過酯(如過辛酸三級丁酯或月桂基過氧化物)作為自由基引發劑。
適當時,為了調整聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯預聚物的所欲分子量,另可能亦使用調整劑。適當調整劑的例子包括硫調整劑,特別是含有巰基的調整劑,如十二基硫醇。調整劑濃度通常以總聚合物計為0.1重量%至2.0重量%。
本發明之聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物可藉聚合反應的已建立技術製造。製造可發生於溶液或熔融物中,其經由內酯在所用的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯的親核基上的開環聚合反應進行。製備係在添加觸媒的條件下,較佳發生於溫度≧160℃和壓力≦10毫巴,較佳於170-210℃和壓力≦5毫巴,且極佳於170-190℃和壓力≦3毫巴。
作為用於接枝反應的內酯,基本上可使用任何內酯,例如γ-丁內酯、γ-戊內酯、δ-戊內酯、碳酸丁二酯、3-氧-ε-己內酯和1,4-二-2-酮。較佳地,使用β-丙內酯和β-丁內酯,特別佳地,使用ε-己內酯。
適當觸媒的例子係亦用於聚酯或其混合物之合成的聚縮合反應之化合物。此觸媒的例子較佳係金屬化合物或彼等之混合物,其更特別以鎂、鋁、鈦、銻、鉍和錫為基礎,例子係鈦酸丁酯和乙酸銻(III)。極特別佳者係含錫觸媒,如氧化單丁基錫、參-2-乙基己酸丁基錫和辛酸錫。
方法的一個具體例中,溶劑加至反應介質,例子係芳族烴或其混合物和/或酮(例如,環己酮、異丁基酮、甲基己基酮和甲基庚基酮)。方法之特別佳的具體例中,未使用溶劑。其是優點,因為在反應的蒸氣相期間內,未形成溶劑產物,極大的反應空間用於待製造的產物,且不須獨立的分離純化(work-up)步驟。本發明之方法可以批次模式或連續模式,在例如擠壓機中進行。
此聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物可以,選擇性地,以無或有加工助劑或添加劑(如抗氧化劑)予以提供。
本發明之聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物的重量平均分子量Mw
較佳地介於2,000和250,000克/莫耳之間,較佳為介於7,000和150,000克/莫耳之間,且極佳者介於12,000和75,000克/莫耳之間。此重量平均分子量Mw
係根據DIN 55672-1藉凝膠穿透層析術和RI偵測,以四氫呋喃作為沖提液,相對於聚苯乙烯標準品測定。
本發明進一步提供藉本發明之方法可得到的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物。
藉本發明之方法得到的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物之聚合度分佈性指數(PDI)≦8且酸數≦5毫克KOH/克(根據DIN EN ISO 2114測定),且較佳具單模態分子量分佈之特徵。
此聚合度分佈性指數係平均分子量的比值Mw
/Mn
。本發明中,根據本發明得到的聚合物之PDI≦8,較佳≦6,且特別佳≦4。
以本發明之方法得到的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物具有實質上沒有未反應的內酯的優點。較佳地,本發明之產物不含未反應的內酯。
本發明之聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物的應用範圍廣泛。不欲以應用例之選擇限制本發明之聚合物之用途。實例僅欲用以提供所述聚合物之用途之廣泛可能性的隨機例子。根據本發明合成的聚合物可用於,例如,熱熔型黏著劑、其他黏著劑、密封劑、熱密封組成物、類似於聚合物的反應或後續共聚物之合成。此聚合物亦可用於化粧品應用之調合物、塗料、塗漆、分散劑、作為聚合物添加劑或用於包裝。所述申請案中的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物之用途亦用於本發明。
即使未進一步陳述,認為嫻於此技術者將能夠將前述描述運用至最寬程度。因此,較佳具體例和實例僅作為描述揭示之用,不欲造成任何限制。下文中,以參照實例的方式,更詳細地闡述本發明。以類似方式可得到本發明的替代具體例。
下表中關於聚合度分佈性指數PDI的值係藉凝膠穿透層析法定出。此處,PDI=Mw
/Mn
=重量平均分子量/數量平均分子量。所有樣品的特徵化係根據DIN 55672-1進行藉凝膠穿透層析法以四氫呋喃作為沖提液予以定出。

相轉變溫度(如,玻璃轉變溫度Tg
)係藉根據DIN EN ISO 11357-1 DSC測定且以℃報導)。所示的值係自第二次加熱循環取得。
羥基數目OH數目,以毫克KOH/克表示,係根據DIN 53240-2測定。酸數,以毫克KOH/克表示,係根據DIN EN ISO 2114測定。
配備恆溫器、回流冷凝管、槳攪拌器和內部溫度計之有護套的槽中引入245克乙酸丁酯、120克甲基丙烯酸甲酯和2.5克甲基丙烯酸2-羥乙酯。此混合物加熱至105℃並於之後與3.1克正十二基硫醇(在10毫升乙酸丁酯中之溶液)摻合。添加3.7克過苯甲酸三級丁酯以發生引發反應。攪拌20分鐘之後,50克乙酸丁酯、8.2克過苯甲酸三級丁酯、9.7克正十二基硫醇、361克甲基丙烯酸甲酯和7.5克甲基丙烯酸2-羥乙酯之混合物以4小時計量稱入。計量稱入供料終了之後,持續於105℃再攪拌2小時,之後於90℃攪拌2小時。最後,藉蒸餾移除溶劑。所得產物的性質列於表1。
配備恆溫器、回流冷凝管、槳攪拌器和內部溫度計之有護套的槽中引入245克乙酸丁酯、114克甲基丙烯酸甲酯和8.6克甲基丙烯酸2-羥乙酯。此混合物加熱至105℃並於之後與2.4克正十二基硫醇(在10毫升乙酸丁酯中之溶液)摻合。添加3.0克過苯甲酸三級丁酯以發生引發反應。攪拌20分鐘之後,50克乙酸丁酯、6.6克過苯甲酸三級丁酯、7.3克正十二基硫醇、343克甲基丙烯酸甲酯和25.8克甲基丙烯酸2-羥乙酯之混合物以4小時計量稱入。計量稱入供料終了之後,持續於105℃再攪拌2小時,之後於90℃攪拌2小時。最後,藉蒸餾移除溶劑。所得產物的性質列於表1。
1000毫升配備蒸餾橋的三頸瓶在惰性氣體下引入250克ε-己內酯,且此初進料加熱至50℃。然後添加250克實例1的預聚物,同時進一步加熱至170℃。添加終了之後,添加0.05克參-2-乙基己酸丁基錫且此混合物於相同溫度再攪拌2小時。然後施以減壓(<3毫巴)。3小時之後,得到無色產物。其特性示於表2。
1000毫升配備蒸餾橋的三頸瓶在惰性氣體下引入250克ε-己內酯,且此初進料加熱至50℃。然後添加250克實例2的預聚物,同時進一步加熱至180℃。添加終了之後,添加0.05克參-2-乙基己酸丁基錫且此混合物於相同溫度再攪拌3小時。然後施以減壓(<3毫巴)。3小時之後,得到無色產物。其特性示於表2。
1000毫升配備蒸餾橋的三頸瓶在惰性氣體下引入300克ε-己內酯,且此初進料加熱至50℃。然後添加300克實例1的預聚物,同時進一步加熱至150℃。添加終了之後,再持續攪拌2小時。然後,於此溫度添加0.06克參-2-乙基己酸丁基錫並施以減壓(<3毫巴)。3小時之後,得到無色產物。其特性示於表2。
1000毫升配備蒸餾橋的三頸瓶在惰性氣體下引入150克ε-己內酯,且此初進料加熱至50℃。然後添加450克實例2的預聚物,同時進一步加熱至150℃。添加終了之後,於此溫度添加0.06克參-2-乙基己酸丁基錫,且此混合物再攪拌2小時。然後將壓力降至15毫巴。3小時之後,得到混濁產物。其特性示於表2。

Claims (10)
- 一種製備聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物之方法,其包含於溫度≧160℃和壓力≦10毫巴,添加觸媒的條件下,內酯在具有親核基的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯上之開環聚合反應。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之方法,其中該(甲基)丙烯酸酯至少部分以帶有親核基的單體為基礎。
- 如申請專利範圍第1或2項之方法,其中該親核基選自羥基、酸基、胺基和/或巰基。
- 如申請專利範圍第1或2項之方法,其中以聚酯丙烯酸酯接枝共聚物中的聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯部分計,該具有官能基的單體量在0.1重量%至10重量%的範圍內。
- 如申請專利範圍第1或2項之方法,其中該親核基係羥基。
- 如申請專利範圍第1或2項之方法,其中使用ε-己內酯作為內酯。
- 如申請專利範圍第1或2項之方法,其中使用金屬化合物作為觸媒。
- 如申請專利範圍第1或2項之方法,其中該開環聚合反應發生於溶液或熔融物中。
- 一種藉由如申請專利範圍第1項之方法所得到之聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接枝-聚內酯聚合物,其具有PDI≦8和酸數≦5毫克KOH/克。
- 一種如申請專利範圍第9項之聚(甲基)丙烯酸酯-接 枝-聚內酯聚合物的用途,其係用於在熱熔型黏著劑、其他黏著劑、密封劑、熱密封組成物、類似於聚合物的反應或後續共聚物之合成、化粧品應用之調合物、塗料、塗漆、作為分散劑、聚合物添加劑或用於包裝。
