Description
本發明係關於一種面板及其電源驅動系統,尤指一種有機發光二極體(organic light-emitting diode,簡稱OLED)面板及其相關的電源驅動系統。
眾所周知,主動式矩陣有機發光二極體(Active matrix organic light-emitting diode,簡稱AMOLED)面板的顯示技術比傳統的薄膜電晶體液晶顯示面板(TFT LCD)具有更明亮、色域更廣、更節能的優點。因此,智慧型手機或者智慧手錶已經開始以OLED面板來取代TFT LCD面板。
請參照第1圖,其所繪示為習知有機發光二極體(OLED)面板示意圖。OLED面板100上包括:主動式矩陣有機發光二極體110與資料驅動器(data driver)120。資料驅動器120中包括:升壓電路(boost circuit)122與源驅動器(source driver)124。當然,有機發光二極體面板100上更包括閘驅動器(gate driver)與時序控制器(timing controller),此處不再贅述。
一般來說,為了能讓主動式矩陣有機發光二極體110正常運作。提供至主動式矩陣有機發光二極體110的正電源電壓OVDD約在4V至5V之間(例如4.6V),負電壓源OVSS約為-2.4V。另外,源驅動器124接收5.6V的資料高電壓Data_high以及3.3V的資料低電壓Data_low,並產生資料輸出信號SDout至主動式矩陣有機發光二極體110。換言之,資料輸出信號SDout的電壓操作範圍為2.3V,亦即資料高電壓Data_high與資料低電壓Data_low的電壓差值(5.6V-3.3V=2.3V)。
另外,由於升壓電路122接收的輸入電壓Vin範圍約在2.7V至3.6V之間。因此,升壓電路122必須先將輸入電壓Vin進行升壓處理,並產生源驅動器124所需的資料高電壓Data_high以及資料低電壓Data_low。一般來說,升壓電路122中至少包括一電荷泵(charge pump),用以將輸入電壓Vin提高固定的倍數。舉例來說,升壓電路122將2.8V的輸入電壓Vin提升2倍後,成為5.6V的資料高電壓Data_high供應至源驅動器124。
請參照第2圖,其所繪示為習知有機發光二極體面板的電源驅動系統示意圖。由於主動式矩陣有機發光二極體110運作時需要較大的負載電流,因此電路板200上至少需要二個電源晶片(power chip)。如圖所示,有機發光二極體面板100外的電路板200包括:類比電源晶片(analog power IC)210與有機發光二極體電源晶片(OLED power IC)220。
有機發光二極體電源晶片220接收電池電壓Vbat,
並產生正電源電壓OVDD與負電源電壓OVSS至有機發光二極體面板100的主動式矩陣有機發光二極體110。
再者,類比電源晶片210接收電池電壓Vbat,並產生輸入電壓Vin至有機發光二極體面板100的所有驅動器,例如資料驅動器120與閘驅動器(未繪示)。因此,習知有機發光二極體面板的電源驅動系統為2晶片的電源驅動系統。
基本上,當智慧型手機或者智慧手錶在待機時,類比電源晶片210與有機發光二極體電源晶片220仍需要供應靜態電流(quiescent current)。如此,2晶片的電源驅動系統會因靜態電流而形成功耗。另外,習知有機發光二極體面板100中,資料驅動器120中的升壓電路122會將輸入電壓Vin進行升壓動作,造成額外功耗,如2×Vin或3xVin的等級。
本發明之實施例係有關於一種有機發光二極體面板,包括:資料驅動器與主動式矩陣有機發光二極體。資料驅動器可接收輸入電壓,且產生一資料輸出信號。主動式矩陣有機發光二極體則接收正電源電壓與負電源電壓,並根據資料輸出信號來發光。其中,輸入電壓與正電源電壓實質相同。
本發明之實施例係有關於一種有機發光二極體面板的電源驅動系統,包括:有機發光二極體面板以及電路板。電路板上具有電源晶片,且電源晶片接收電池電壓並產生正電源電壓、負電源電壓與輸入電壓。其中,電路板可電性連接至有機發
光二極體面板,且輸入電壓與正電源電壓實質相同。
本發明之實施例係有關於一種有機發光二極體面板,包含有機發光二極體像素電路、資料驅動器與電路板。有機發光二極體像素電路包含有機發光二極體,且其具有陽極端與陰極端,而資料驅動器則電性連接至有機發光二極體像素電路。電路板則具有電源晶片,其中電源晶片具有輸入腳位、第一輸出腳位、一第二輸出腳位與第三輸出腳位。第一輸出腳位電性連接至資料驅動器,第二輸出腳位電性連接至陽極端,而第三輸出腳位則電性連接至陰極端。
為了對本發明之之實施例的上述及其他方面有更佳的瞭解,下文特舉較佳實施例,並配合所附圖式,作詳細說明如下:

請參照第3A圖與第3B圖,其所繪示為本發明之一實施例所運用於有機發光二極體面板的像素電路(pixel circuit)及其相關信號示意圖。
像素電路300包括多個電晶體、有機發光二極體與補償電路310。電晶體M1的第一端接收正電源電壓OVDD,閘極電性連接至補償電路310。電晶體M6的第一端電性連接至電晶體M1的第二端,閘極接收控制信號EM。有機發光二極體OLED之陽極端電性連接至電晶體M6之第二端,陰極端則電性連接至負電源電壓OVSS。電晶體M4之第一端接收資料輸出信號SDout,閘極接收控制信號S2,電晶體M4之第二端則電性連接至補償電路310。電晶體M5之第一端電性連接至電晶體M4之第二端,閘極接收控制信號EM,電晶體M5之第二端則接收參考電壓Vref。電晶體M7之第一端電性連接至補償電路310,閘極接收控制信號S1,而第二端則接收參考電壓Vref。
補償電路310包括電容器C與電晶體M2、M3。電容器C一端電性連接至電晶體M4之第二端,而電容器C之另一端則電性連接至電晶體M1閘極。電晶體M2之第一端電性連接至電晶體M1閘極,閘極接收控制信號S2,而電晶體M2之第二端則電性連接至電晶體M7之第一端。電晶體M3之第一端電性連接至電晶體M7之第一端,閘極接收控制信號S2,而電晶體M3之第二端則電性連接至電晶體M1之第二端。
根據本發明的實施例,像素電路300中的補償電路
310用來補償電晶體M1的臨限電壓(threshold voltage)。再者,參考電壓Vref為可調整的偏壓信號。當資料輸出信號SDout產生時,可使得電晶體M1產生的有機發光二極體電流Ioled會比例於(SDout-Vref)2。
如第3B圖所示。於時間點t1之前,控制信號EM為低準位、控制信號S1與S2為高準位,電晶體M4之第二端為參考電壓Vref。於時間點t1至時間點t2之間,控制信號EM、S1與S2皆為高準位,電晶體M4之第二端可維持在參考電壓Vref。於時間點t2至時間點t3之間,控制信號S1為低準位、控制信號EM與S2為高準位,使得電晶體M7提供參考電壓Vref至補償電路310。
於時間點t3至時間點t4之間,控制信號S1、S2為低準位,而控制信號EM為高準位,則電晶體M4提供資料輸出信號SDout至補償電路310。於時間點t4至時間點t5之間,控制信號S2為低準位,而控制信號S1、EM為高準位,使得補償電路310進行臨限電壓補償。於時間點t5至時間點t6之間,控制信號S1、S2、EM皆為高準位,而使得電晶體M1補償完成。於時間點t6時,控制信號EM為低準位,且控制信號S1、S2為高準位,使得電晶體M1產生有機發光二極體電流Ioled至有機發光二極體OLED。其中,有機發光二極體電流Ioled約等於β×(SDout-Vref)2,β為電晶體M1的元件常數(device parameter)。
由以上的說明可知,本發明之實施例之像素電路
300的特性係來自於有機發光二極體電流Ioled,而有機發光二極體電流Ioled是由資料輸出信號SDout與參考電壓Vref之間的差值所決定。欲維持有機發光二極體OLED的發光特性,則需形成實質相同的有機發光二極體電流Ioled。因此,保持實質相同的資料輸出信號SDout與參考電壓Vref之電壓差值,即可滿足。在此狀況下,可進一步藉由調整參考電壓Vref的數值,來取得有機發光二極體OLED更低的操作準位。舉例來說,在維持相同有機發光二極體OLED的發光特性下,在降低參考電壓Vref時,則亦可將資料輸出信號SDout的操作電壓往低電壓區調整。當參考電壓Vref為1V時,資料高電壓Data_high則可調整為2.8V且資料低電壓Data_low為0.5V,亦同時讓資料輸出信號SDout的操作範圍維持在2.3V。
然而,從上述的電壓實例來看,當資料高電壓Data_high為2.8V,且資料低電壓Data_low為0.5V時,資料驅動器即不需要升壓電路來提升輸入電壓Vin,並且可以有效地降低資料驅動器的功耗。第3A圖所繪示之畫素電路300係為本發明之實施例,但本發明卻不以此為限。具體而言,畫素電路300可被視為具有參考電壓Vref為直流偏移(DC offset)信號特性的電路,而可調整參考電壓Vref。因此,其他畫素電路如有相同特性,亦可容易進行調整參考電壓Vref,進而影響資料輸出訊號SDout的操作電壓。
請參照第4圖,其所繪示為本發明之實施例之有機
發光二極體面板示意圖。有機發光二極體面板400包括:主動式矩陣有機發光二極體410與資料驅動器420,而資料驅動器420更包括降壓電路422與源驅動器424。另外,有機發光二極體面板400亦可包括閘驅動器與時序控制器,但此處就不進行贅述。
於本發明之實施例中,當資料驅動器420所產生之資料輸出SDout的操作電壓可以往低電壓調整時,則可降低資料驅動器420所接收的輸入電壓Vin。如此一來,輸入電壓Vin除了可以提供至資料驅動器420來形成資料輸出SDout外,亦可供於主動式矩陣有機發光二極體410之正電源電壓OVDD。舉例來說,主動式矩陣有機發光二極體410之正電源電壓OVDD約為3.3V,而負電源電壓OVSS。透過如第3A圖之實施例,則資料輸出信號SDout的操作電壓範圍之資料高電壓Data_high為2.8V、資料低電壓Data_low為0.5V,使得資料輸出信號SDout之操作電壓(2.8V~0.5V)皆低於正電源電壓OVDD(3.3V)。如此一來,當輸入電壓Vin為3.3V時,則可透過資料驅動器420後,可提供適當的操作電壓而產生資料輸出信號SDout。同時,輸入電壓Vin亦可提供至主動式矩陣有機發光二極體410,作為正電源電壓OVDD。
具體而言,請參閱第4圖之實施例,資料驅動器420包含降壓電路422與源驅動器424,且資料驅動器420可接收輸入電壓Vin,而產生資料輸出信號SDout。由於正電源電壓OVDD大於或實質等於資料輸出信號SDout的操作電壓範圍,即正電源
電壓OVDD分別大於或實質等於資料高電壓Data_high與資料低電壓Data_low。因此,資料驅動器420可設置降壓電路422,來將輸入電壓Vin進行降壓而形成資料高電壓Data_high與資料低電壓Data_low。相較於習知有機發光二極體面板,本發明之實施例之有機發光二極體面板400中,資料驅動器422中不需要升壓電路來提升輸入電壓Vin,進而有效地降低有機發光二極體面板400的功耗。
詳言之,於本實施例中,降壓電路422係利用低壓差穩壓器(low dropout regulator,LDO)來將輸入電壓Vin轉換為資料高電壓Data_high以及資料低電壓Data_low。為了便於說明,本實施例之第4圖所繪示所表達的為訊號或電壓連接關係,並非實際物件的金屬佈線。
請參照第5圖,其所繪示為為本發明之實施例之有機發光二極體面板的電源驅動系統示意圖。由於有機發光二極體面板400上的輸入電壓Vin與正電源電壓(OVDD)實質相同,如約為3.3V。因此,電路板500上設有一個電源晶片(power chip),且此單一電源晶片可提供三組電源至有機發光二極體面板400。如圖所示,有機發光二極體面板400外的電路板500包括:電源晶片520。於本實施例中,電路板500可為硬式電路板(Printed circuit board,PCB)或可撓電路板(Flexible Printed circuit,FPC),但本發明不以此為限,電路板500亦可為其他設有金屬走線或可傳遞傳導電訊號的任一載體。
換言之,電源晶片520接收電池電壓Vbat,並產生正電源電壓OVDD與負電源電壓OVSS,以提供至主動式矩陣有機發光二極體410。同時,有機發光二極體電源晶片520亦可產生輸入電壓Vin,以提供至資料驅動器420。於本實施例中,電源晶片520包含升降壓轉換器(buck boost converter),且將電池電壓Vbat作為輸入端,而對應出三種輸出端,即輸入電壓Vin、正電源電壓OVDD與負電源電壓OVSS,其中輸入電壓Vin與正電源電壓OVDD的電壓實質相同。但本發明不以為限,可依設計不同而使用不同的電路,來達到輸入電壓Vin與正電源電壓OVDD的電壓能夠實質相同的功能。
具體而言,於本實施例中,電源晶片520可包含一輸入腳位530、第一輸出腳位531、第二輸出腳位532與第三輸出腳位533,其中電池電源Vbat傳輸至輸入腳位530,透過電源晶片520而產生各電壓以提供至有機發光二極體面板400。第一輸出腳位531可對應產生輸入電壓Vin,而第二輸出腳位532可對應產生正電源電壓OVDD,第三輸出腳位533則對應產生負電源電壓OVSS,其中第一輸出腳位531與第二輸出腳位532所形成的電壓為實質相同。於本實施例中,以不同腳位來產生相同電壓時,便於形成兩組電壓實質相同、卻可分開控制時序的兩電壓訊號,利於應用於有機發光二極體面板400。相較於習知有機發光二極體面板的電源驅動系統,本發明的有機發光二極體面板400僅需三組電源即可正常運作。也就是說,本發明有機發光二
極體面板的電源驅動系統為1晶片與3通道(1 ICs,3 Channels)的電源驅動系統。
由以上的說明可知,本發明之實施例的優點在於提出一種有機發光二極體面板及其相關的電源驅動系統。在有機發光二極體面板上,資料驅動器420僅需將輸入電壓Vin進行降壓,不需要對輸入電壓Vin進行升壓,減少功耗。
另外,透過像素電路而可適當地調整參考電壓Vref,進而將主動式矩陣有機發光二極體的正電源電壓OVDD與輸入電壓Vin實質相同。如此,本發明之實施例的電源驅動系統即為1晶片與3通道(1 ICs,3 Channels)的電源驅動系統。
再者,上述所提及的電壓數值,並非用來限定本發明。在此技術領域的技術人員皆可根據本發明所揭露的有機發光二極體面板以及電源驅動系統中所提及的電壓數值來進行修改,並實現本發明。另,上述所提及之連接、電性連接、耦接或電性耦接等,僅在有特別描述為直接時,如直接連接,才視為直接關係,亦即中間並無存在其他物件。
綜上所述,雖然本發明已以較佳實施例揭露如上,然其並非用以限定本發明。本發明所屬技術領域中具有通常知識者,在不脫離本發明之精神和範圍內,當可作各種之更動與潤飾。因此,本發明之保護範圍當視後附之申請專利範圍所界定者為準。

Claims (11)
- 一種有機發光二極體面板,包括:一資料驅動器,接收一輸入電壓,且該資料驅動器可產生一資料輸出信號;以及一主動式矩陣有機發光二極體,接收一正電源電壓與一負電源電壓,並根據該資料輸出信號來發光;其中,該輸入電壓與該正電源電壓實質相同。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之有機發光二極體面板,其中該資料驅動器包括:一降壓電路,接收該輸入電壓,並產生一資料高電壓與一資料低電壓;以及一源驅動器,接收該資料高電壓與該資料低電壓,使得該資料輸出信號的一操作範圍在該資料高電壓與該資料低電壓之間。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之有機發光二極體面板,其中該主動式矩陣有機發光二極體具有一有機發光二極體像素電路,包括:一補償電路;以及一第一電晶體,具有一第一端與一閘極,其中該第一端電性連接至該正電源電壓,該閘極電性連接至該補償電路;一第二電晶體,具有一第一端與一閘極,其中該第一端電性連接至該第一電晶體之一第二端,該閘極接收一第一控制信號;一有機發光二極體,具有一陽極端與一陰極端,該陽極端可 電性連接至該第二電晶體之一第二端,該陰極端則電性連接至該負電源電壓;一第三電晶體,具有一第一端、一閘極與一第二端,其中該第一端接收該資料輸出信號,該閘極接收一第二控制信號,該第二端電性連接至該補償電路;一第四電晶體,具有一第一端、一閘極與一第二端,其中該第一端電性連接至該第三電晶體之該第二端,該閘極接收該第一控制信號,該第二端接收一參考電壓;以及一第五電晶體,具有一第一端、一閘極與一第二端,其中該第一端電性連接至該補償電路,該閘極接收一第三控制信號,而該第二端接收該參考電壓。
- 如申請專利範圍第3項所述之有機發光二極體面板,其中該補償電路包括:一電容器,具有一第一端與一第二端,其中該第一端電性連接至該第三電晶體之該第二端,該第二端電性連接至該第一電晶體之該閘極;一第六電晶體,具有一第一端、一閘極與一第二端,其中該第一端電性連接至該第一電晶體之該閘極,該閘極可接收該第二控制信號,而該第二端電性連接至該第五電晶體之該第一端;以及一第七電晶體,具有一第一端、一閘極與一第二端,其中該 第一端電性連接至該第五電晶體之該第一端,該閘極接收該第二控制信號,而該第二端則可電性連接至該第一電晶體之該第二端。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之有機發光二極體面板,其中該主動式矩陣有機發光二極體更包含一有機發光二極體,且該有機發光二極體之一陽極端可電性連接至該正電源電壓,該有機發光二極體之一陰極端可電性連接至該負電源電壓。
- 一種有機發光二極體面板的電源驅動系統,包括:一有機發光二極體面板;以及一電路板,該電路板上具有一電源晶片,該電源晶片接收一電池電壓並產生一正電源電壓、一負電源電壓與一輸入電壓;其中,該電路板可電性連接至該有機發光二極體面板,且該輸入電壓與該正電源電壓實質相同。
- 如申請專利範圍第6項所述之有機發光二極體面板的電源驅動系統,更包含:一有機發光二極體,具有一陽極端與一陰極端,其中該陽極端可接收該正電源電壓,而該陰極端可接收該負電源電壓。
- 如申請專利範圍第6項所述之有機發光二極體面板的電源驅動系統,更包含一資料驅動器,設置於該有機發光二極體面 板,且該資料驅動器可產生一資料輸出信號,其中該資料驅動器包括:一降壓電路,接收該輸入電壓,並產生一資料高電壓與一資料低電壓;以及一源驅動器,接收該資料高電壓與該資料低電壓,使得該資料輸出信號的一操作範圍在該資料高電壓與該資料低電壓之間。
- 如申請專利範圍第6項所述之有機發光二極體面板的電源驅動系統,其中該主動式矩陣有機發光二極體具有一有機發光二極體像素電路,包括:一補償電路;以及一第一電晶體,具有一第一端與一閘極,其中該第一端電性連接至該正電源電壓,該閘極電性連接至該補償電路;一第二電晶體,具有一第一端與一閘極,其中該第一端電性連接至該第一電晶體之該第一端,該閘極接收一第一控制信號;一有機發光二極體,具有一陽極端與一陰極端,其中該陽極端電性連接至該第二電晶體之一第二端,該陰極端則電性連接至該負電源電壓;一第三電晶體,具有一第一端、一閘極與一第二端,其中該第一端接收該資料輸出信號,該閘極接收一第二控制信號,而該第二端可電性連接至該補償電路;一第四電晶體,具有一第一端、一閘極與一第二端,其中該第一端電性連接至該第三電晶體之該第二端,該閘極接收該第一 控制信號,該第二端接收一參考電壓;以及一第五電晶體,具有一第一端、一閘極與一第二端,其中該第一端可電性連接至該補償電路,該閘極接收一第三控制信號,而該第二端接收該參考電壓。
- 一種有機發光二極體面板,包括:一有機發光二極體像素電路,具有一有機發光二極體,其中該有機發光二極體更具有一陽極端與一陰極端;一資料驅動器,電性連接至該有機發光二極體像素電路;以及一電路板,具有一電源晶片,該電源晶片具有一輸入腳位、一第一輸出腳位、一第二輸出腳位與一第三輸出腳位,其中該第一輸出腳位電性連接至該資料驅動器,該第二輸出腳位則電性連接至該陽極端,而該第三輸出腳位則電性連接至該陰極端。
- 如申請專利範圍第10項所述之有機發光二極體面板,其中該第一輸出腳位與該第二輸出腳位所輸出的電壓實質相同。
