Description
本發明係有關於一種流體流接頭配件;更特別地,本發明係有關於一種具有一回流阻止閥包括在其中的流體流接頭配件。
在執行包括使用不同流體的醫療過程中,譬如,玻璃體視網膜手術中,常會使用到不同的氣體及液體。譬如,在玻璃體視網膜手術中,可能會需要以空氣替換眼內的流體。
在習知玻璃體視網膜手術系統中,眼內的流體與空氣之交換典型地係以手動方式改變一截止閥的位置來執行。該截止閥的手動方式轉換停止了一主要流體,如一手術注入溶液(譬如,可獲得自德州Fort Worth的Alcon藥廠[Alcon Laboratories,Inc.]的BSS PLUS®
眼內灌注溶液),之流動並開始了一替代流體,如空氣,之流動。當須要停止手術注入溶液之流動並開始空氣之流動時,外科醫師必須以言語要求其在手術室中的助理、同事、刷手護士或刷手技術人員改變截止閥的位置。此技術可能會延緩外科手術的進行,因而導致錯誤的發生。若截止閥不小心被轉至一無功能性的位置,則流至眼睛的流體會中斷,而眼睛可能會變軟,因而使得本已十分精密的外科步驟更為複雜。或者,
不適當的操作截止閥有可能造成流體的非所欲回流。
因此,在此技藝中仍需要一種系統及方法來使在手術注入溶液之流動及空氣或其他氣體之流動之間的移轉可由一玻璃體視網膜外科醫師直接控制,而不會有回流的潛在危險,且不須要助理的協助。此外,在此技藝中仍需要一種系統及方法來消除由於一閥被轉到一無功能性的位置而在外科手術中併發眼睛軟化的潛在危險。
本發明備置一種系統及方法,其可使一玻璃體視網膜外科醫師在不需協助下得以在手術注入溶液以及空氣或其他氣體之間作轉換,且不會由於流體流動之中斷而造成眼睛軟化的潛在危險。
在一方面,所揭露之本發明係為一種流動控制系統,其包括一第一流體流的一來源、一第二流體流的一來源、用以在該第一流體流及該第二流體流之間轉換的裝備、供該第一流體流用的一第一管線、供該第二流體流用的一第二管線、以及一接頭配件。該接頭配件包括供該第一管線用的一第一入口、供該第二管線用的一第二入口、供該第一流體或該第二流體用的一出口、一通常是關閉的回流阻止閥、以及一容器。當該用以轉換的裝備自該第一流體流轉換至該第二流體流時,該回流阻止閥可被打開。該容器具有一內表面與該回流阻止閥的一外表面緊密地配合,俾以儘可能地減少在該容器及該外表面之間的一間隙體積。
此一流動控制系統儘可能地減少或消除了在該第一流體中空氣或氣泡的形成,此點在玻璃體視網膜醫療應用或其他醫療應用上特別有利。
在參考圖式及以下實施例之說明後可對於本發明的自動截止閥有更進一步的瞭解。在圖式中,相似的標號代表在不同圖中相似或對應的元件。
第1圖為與一玻璃體視網膜手術系統連用的使用一截止閥的一習知流體流動系統之概略圖式;第2圖為使用本發明的自動截止閥的一流體流動系統之概略圖;第3圖為本發明自動截止閥系統的一較佳實施例的部份截面之側視圖;第4圖為本發明自動截止閥系統的一第二較佳實施例的部份截面之側視圖;以及第5圖為第4圖之自動截止閥系統沿著線A-A的截面圖。
雖然所揭露之本發明在此中係依據其與一玻璃體視網膜手術系統之併用來描述,但熟悉此技藝人士應可瞭解到所揭露之本發明可與各種其他須要一操作者在一建立之程序中在不同流體流之間作轉換的醫療及非醫療兩類設備併用。此外,雖然所揭露之本發明在此中係被描述為與自一
液體流轉換至一氣體流或反向操作有關,但它亦可用在與自一第一液體流轉換至一第二液體流或反向操作有關者。
如第1圖所示,玻璃體視網膜外科醫師使用的習知流體流動系統典型地包括一以手動方式起動的截止閥900以在手術過程中改變經由一注入套管904供應至一病人眼中的流體。在正常的手術中,注入管線902是打開的,而空氣管線906是關閉的,因而允許手術注入溶液被控制地流至該注入套管904。當須要自手術注入溶液流轉換成為空氣流時,該截止閥900的位置係以手動方式改變。如前所述,若該截止閥900不小心地被移動至阻擋手術注入溶液及空氣兩者流動的一位置,則正在動手術的眼睛會變軟,因而增加原已十分精密之步驟的複雜性。
依據本發明,玻璃體視網膜外科醫師可在玻璃體視網膜手術過程中被提供一種新穎程度的流體流動控制,其是藉由能夠在譬如手術注入溶液及空氣之流體之間作自動的轉換。來自一手術注入溶液或加壓空氣之來源的此類流體流可藉由使用在一足底開關上的電開關或備置在一GUI(圖形化使用者界面)控制器上的輸入而改變。
如第2圖所示,併入本發明的一系統10以一自動截止閥或一回流阻止閥20替換了習知以手動方式操作之截止閥900,該自動截止閥或該回流阻止閥20係被建構且配置成可使玻璃體視網膜外科醫師在不須要以手動方式改變習知截止閥900之位置的狀況下在譬如手術注入溶液及空氣或其他氣體之流體之間作轉換。藉由不須以手動方式改變習知
截止閥900的位置,外科醫師可減少對於助理、同事、刷手護士及/或刷手技術人員的依賴並避免因習知以手動方式操作之截止閥900轉換至一無功能性的位置造成流體中斷的潛在問題。
如第3圖所示,本發明的自動截止閥20的較佳實施例300包封在一T字形的接頭配件302中。該T字形的接頭配件302置放在注入管線902以及一空氣或氣體管線906之間。當手術注入溶液通過該注入管線902流至一注入套管904時,該手術注入溶液流動通過該T字形的接頭配件302的筆直部份304。當該手術注入溶液被止動,而空氣或氣體源被起動時,空氣流動通過該T字形的接頭配件302的一桿部份306並打開一通常是關閉的鴨嘴閥320。該通常是關閉的鴨嘴閥藉由可以螺紋334連接T字形的接頭配件302的一接頭配件322固持在適當位置。只要有來自通過T字形的接頭配件302之桿部份306的空氣流之力量足以克服製造鴨嘴閥320所使用的橡膠或具可撓性材料之彈性所導致的兩個鴨嘴部份323、324之樑的強度上自然存在的偏動現象,鴨嘴閥320的兩個鴨嘴部份323、324會維持相互分開。當氣壓不足以維持兩個鴨嘴部份323、324相互分開時,鴨嘴部份323、324會如第3圖中所示地連在一起,因而阻擋流體通過T字形的接頭配件302的桿部份306。
因此,如第2圖所示地,在正常地注入至注入套管904時,手術注入溶液的流動被控制。空氣管線906被關閉。如第3圖所示,止回閥20,在較佳實施例300中為鴨嘴閥320,
阻止手術注入溶液回流至空氣管線906中。當玻璃體視網膜外科醫師想要從手術注入溶液之注入轉換成空氣或其他氣體之注入時,該外科醫師係起動一電開關或接觸一GUI。該手術注入溶液之壓力被減至小於該空氣或氣體之壓力的一壓力,及/或該空氣或氣體之壓力被增加至大於該手術注入溶液之壓力的一壓力。如此造成終止手術注入溶液通過注入管線902之流動,而開始空氣或氣體通過空氣管線906之流動。該空氣或氣體之壓力打開了止回閥20,因而允許空氣經由連接至注入套管904的一第三管線903注入至眼睛。若所欲,可逆轉流體之轉換,因而允許玻璃體視網膜外科醫師由空氣或氣體轉換回至注入管線902中的注入溶液。此外,以手動、電動、機械或氣動方式起動的閥亦可配置在注入管線902以及空氣或氣體管線906上,俾以進一步地在注入溶液流以及空氣或氣體流之間轉換。一較佳的閥是一夾管閥。
熟悉此技藝人士可瞭解到雖然一鴨嘴閥320已被顯示在較佳實施例300中,但亦可在不脫離本發明下使用其他種類的回流阻止閥。
如第3圖所示,桿部份306備有一容器400,該容器具有與閥320的一外表面404十分相合的一內表面402。此外,閥320的一尖端或開放表面406配置成儘可能地接近筆直部份304的內腔408,而不置放閥320在流體的流動流中。此種容器400的構形以及閥320的配置可儘可能地減少或消除容器400及外表面404之間的間隙體積410,因而阻止在筆直部份
304內注入溶液流中的空氣或氣泡的形成。阻止此等空氣或氣泡可最大化病人的安全。
第4-5圖顯示包封在一T字形之接頭配件502內的本發明的自動截止閥20之一第二較佳實施例500。該較佳實施例500採用一桿部份306,其備有用以容納一鴨嘴閥520的一容器501。較佳實施例500,除了接頭配件322係以超聲波接合至桿部份306;與鴨嘴閥320在接頭配件302內的配置比較,鴨嘴閥520係在接頭配件502內轉動90度;且容器501及鴨嘴閥520的構形已被稍微改變例外,大體上在結構及操作上與較佳實施例300相同。更特別地,藉由將鴨嘴閥520轉動90度,可阻止在部份304內的注入溶液流中的非所欲紊流及相關的空氣或氣泡。與較佳實施例300類似,容器501具有與閥520的一外表面505十分配合的一內表面503。此外,閥520的一尖端或開放表面507配置成儘可能地接近筆直部份304的內腔408,而不置放閥520在流體流動流中。此種容器501的構形及閥520的配置儘可能地減少或消除了容器501及外表面505之間的間隙體積510,因而阻止在筆直部份304內的注入溶液流中空氣或氣泡的形成。阻止此等空氣或氣泡可最大化病人的安全。

Claims (3)
- 一種流動控制系統,其包括:一第一流體流的一來源;一第二流體流的一來源;用以在該第一流體流及該第二流體流之間轉換的裝備;供該第一流體流用的一第一管線;供該第二流體流用的一第二管線;以及一接頭配件,其包括:供該第一管線用的一第一入口;供該第二管線用的一第二入口;供該第一流體或該第二流體用的一出口;一通常是關閉的鴨嘴閥,該鴨嘴閥具有第一及第二鴨嘴部份可在當該用以在該第一流體流及該第二流體流之間轉換的裝備自該第一流體流轉換至該第二流體流時被打開;以及一容器,其具有一內表面與該鴨嘴閥的一外表面緊密地配合,俾以儘可能地減少在該容器及該外表面之間的一間隙體積、使該第一及第二鴨嘴部份之尖端配置成靠近該第一流體流、並使該第一及第二鴨嘴部份配置成平行於該第一流體流。
