Description
本發明是有關於一種顯示裝置,且特別是有關於一種撓式顯示裝置。
近年來,隨著科技的進步與社會的發展,顯示裝置於各種電子產品中之使用已越來越廣泛。而且,隨著電子產品輕薄短小且易於攜帶之發展趨勢,市場上更出現了具有可撓性之顯示裝置。
以目前來說,多數的撓式顯示裝置中均配置薄膜電晶體陣列(Thin Film Transistor Matrix,TFT Matrix),用以作為控制畫素啟動與否的開關。薄膜電晶體陣列一般係由多種材料組成,而這些材料有部分係延展性能較差之陶瓷材料。因此,當撓式顯示裝置被彎曲至超過這些材料所能承受的彎曲程度時,往往會破壞薄膜電晶體陣列之結構,影響薄膜電晶體陣列之性能,進而可能使撓式顯示裝置發生顯示異常的現象。
因此,如何避免撓式顯示裝置因過度彎曲而造成顯示異常的現象,以確保撓式顯示裝置的使用可靠性,實為相關領域之人員所重視的議題之一。
有鑑於此,本發明提供一種撓式顯示裝置,其具有較佳的使用可靠性。
本發明提出一種撓式顯示裝置,其包括顯示面板以及多個第一彎曲限制結構。顯示面板具有顯示面以及與顯示面相對的底面,且顯示面具有可視區以及環繞可視區的外圍區。第一彎曲限制結構配置於外圍區內,其中各第一彎曲限制結構具有第一頂面及第一斜向側壁,且相鄰之第一彎曲限制結構的第一頂面彼此間隔,而第一斜向側壁彼此相對。
本發明提出一種撓式顯示裝置,其包括顯示面板以及多個彎曲限制結構。顯示面板具有顯示面以及與顯示面相對的底面,顯示面具有可視區以及環繞可視區的外圍區。彎曲限制結構配置於底面上而對應至顯示面的外圍區,其中各彎曲限制結構具有頂面及斜向側壁,且相鄰之彎曲限制結構的頂面彼此間隔,而斜向側壁彼此相對。
在本發明的撓式顯示裝置中,由於顯示面板上配置有多個彎曲限制結構,當撓式顯示裝置被彎曲至預定程度時,相鄰的彎曲限制結構之間會相互抵持,以限制顯示面板被進一步彎曲,因此可防止顯示面板過度彎曲而導致內部元件受損,進而避免撓式顯示裝置因過度彎曲而發生之顯示異常,確保撓式顯示裝置的使用可靠性。
為讓本發明之上述和其他目的、特徵和優點能更明顯易懂,下文特舉較佳實施例,並配合所附圖式,作詳細說明如下。
圖1繪示為本發明之一實施例中撓式顯示裝置的俯視示意圖。圖2繪示為圖1顯示面板的俯視圖。圖3繪示為圖1沿III-III'線之剖視圖。請參閱圖1至圖3,撓式顯示裝置10包括顯示面板12與多個彎曲限制結構14。其中,顯示面板12具有顯示面122以及與顯示面122相對的底面124,且顯示面122具有可視區1222以及環繞可視區1222的外圍區1224。彎曲限制結構14則配置於外圍區1224內,且各彎曲限制結構14均具有頂面142及斜向側壁144。其中,相鄰之彎曲限制結構14的頂面142彼此間隔,而斜向側壁144彼此相對。
具體來說,彎曲限制結構14之形狀可為錐體,且其在與顯示面122平行之方向上的截面積係朝遠離顯示面122的方向逐漸減小。在本實施例中,彎曲限制結構14為梯形錐體,但其並非用以限定本發明。在其他實施例中,彎曲限制結構14的形狀還可以是三角錐體、圓錐體或其他多邊形錐體。
另一方面,本實施例的這些彎曲限制結構14可以是採用一體成型的方式製成。也就是說,本實施例之彎曲限制結構14的底部146相互連接。而且,彎曲限制結構14的材質可為金屬,如鋁、鎂及不銹鋼之一或其組合物。此外,彎曲限制結構14的材質也可以是塑膠,如壓克力(Acrylic)、丙烯腈-丁二烯-苯乙烯樹脂(Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene Resin,ABS)、矽膠(Silica Gel)、聚氨酯樹脂(Polyurethane Resin,PU)及環氧樹脂(Epoxy Resin)之一或其組合物。
這些彎曲限制結構14係用以限制顯示面板12之彎曲程度。由圖3可知,彼此相鄰之彎曲限制結構14的斜向側壁144之間具有夾角θ,而使顯示面板12可在允許的角度範圍內朝顯示面122彎曲。其中,夾角θ大小即依據顯示面板12內之元件所能承受的最大彎曲角度而定。詳細來說,當顯示面板12朝顯示面122彎曲至某一角度時,如圖4所示,相鄰之彎曲限制結構14會彼此抵住而使顯示面板12無法再進一步彎曲。顯示面板12此時的彎曲角度即是顯示面板12內部元件所能承受的最大彎曲角度。
值得一提的是,在另一實施例中,這些彎曲限制結構14亦可分別製成後,再將其設置在外圍區1224內。其中,這些彎曲限制結構14可以間隔於彼此地排列,如圖5所示。在此實施例中,顯示面板12朝向顯示面122的最大可彎曲角度係與彼此相鄰之彎曲限制結構14的頂面142之間的間距D以及夾角θ相關。也就是說,間距D或夾角θ的值需視顯示面板12內之元件所能承受的最大彎曲角度而定。
此外,熟習此技藝者應該知道,顯示面板12還可包括驅動晶片126,如圖3所示。具體來說,彎曲限制結構14可以是中空的結構,並覆蓋於驅動晶片126上方,以保護驅動晶片126在顯示面板12於彎曲狀態時不會因受到彎曲應力而損壞。當然,彎曲限制結構14也可以是實心的結構,而驅動晶片126則是配置在外圍區1224與可視區1222之間的區域內,並對應彎曲限制結構14而分佈。換言之,驅動晶片126只要不是設置在相鄰的彎曲限制結構14之間,即可在顯示面板12於彎曲狀態時,藉由彎曲限制結構14而免於遭受損壞。
再者,如圖6所示,顯示面板12可由陣列基板1201、顯示介質層1204及透光層1205等組成。其中,顯示介質層1204可為液晶層(Liquid Crystal Layer)、電泳層(Electro-Phoretic Layer)、電濕潤層(Electro-Wetting Layer)或有機電致發光層(Organic Electro-Luminescence Layer)。陣列基板1201包括基底1202與配置於其上的開關元件陣列1203,而開關元件陣列1203可為主動元件陣列(Active Matrix)或被動元件陣列(Passive Matrix)。具體來說,本實施例之開關元件陣列1203例如是薄膜電晶體陣列(Thin Film Transistors Array,TFTs Array)。
由上述可知,在撓式顯示裝置10中,由於在顯示面板12的外圍區1224內配置有多個彎曲限制結構14,當撓式顯示裝置10朝顯示面122彎曲至預定程度時,相鄰的彎曲限制結構14之間會相互抵持,以限制顯示面板12被進一步彎曲,因此可防止顯示面板12過度彎曲而受損,進而避免撓式顯示裝置10因過度彎曲而發生顯示異常的現象,從而確保撓式顯示裝置10的使用可靠性。
特別的是,在本發明的其他實施例中,彎曲限制結構也可以配置於顯示面板的底面,以限制顯示面板在另一方向上的可彎曲角度。以下將舉實施例說明之。
圖7繪示為本發明另一實施例中撓式顯示裝置的剖面示意圖。請參閱圖7,撓式顯示裝置20與撓式顯示裝置10相似,以下將針對兩者相異處加以說明。
在撓式顯示裝置20中,彎曲限制結構26係配置於顯示面板22的底面224上而對應至顯示面222的外圍區,且彎曲限制結構26可與撓式顯示裝置10中的彎曲限制結構14相同或相似,並用以限制顯示面板22之彎曲程度,此處不再贅述。
承上所述,當顯示面板22朝底面224彎曲至某預定程度時,彼此相鄰的彎曲限制結構26之間會相互抵持,以限制顯示面板22被進一步彎曲,因此可防止顯示面板22過度彎曲受損,進而避免撓式顯示裝置20因過度彎曲而發生顯示異常的現象,從而確保撓式顯示裝置20的使用可靠性。
當然,本發明之撓式顯示裝置在另一實施例中,更可以同時在顯示面板的顯示面及底面上配置彎曲限制結構。以下將舉實施例說明之。圖8繪示為本發明另一實施例中撓式顯示裝置的剖面示意圖。請參閱圖8,撓式顯示裝置30與撓式顯示裝置10相似,以下將針對兩者相異處加以說明。
撓式顯示裝置30同時包括多個配置在顯示面322之外圍區內的彎曲限制結構34以及多個分別對應彎曲限制結構34而配置於底面324上的彎曲限制結構36,以限制顯示面板32在任何方向上的彎曲角度。詳細說來,彼此相鄰之彎曲限制結構34的斜向側壁344之間具有夾角θ1

Claims (18)
- 一種撓式顯示裝置,其包括:一顯示面板,具有一顯示面以及與該顯示面相對的一底面,該顯示面具有一可視區以及一外圍區,其中該外圍區係環繞該可視區,該顯示面板包括多個驅動晶片,設置於該外圍區內;以及多個第一彎曲限制結構,配置於該外圍區內,其中該些第一彎曲限制結構至少其中之一覆蓋於其所對應之該驅動晶片,且各該第一彎曲限制結構具有一第一頂面及至少一第一斜向側壁,且相鄰之該些第一彎曲限制結構的該些第一頂面彼此間隔,而該些第一斜向側壁彼此相對。

- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之撓式顯示裝置,更包括多個第二彎曲限制結構,分別對應該些第一彎曲限制結 構其中之一而配置於該底面上,各該第二彎曲限制結構具有一第二頂面及至少一第二斜向側壁,且相鄰之該些第二彎曲限制結構的該些第二頂面彼此間隔,而該些第二斜向側壁彼此相對。
- 如申請專利範圍第7項所述之撓式顯示裝置,其中該些第二彎曲限制結構為錐體。
- 如申請專利範圍第8項所述之撓式顯示裝置,其中該些第二彎曲限制結構為三角錐體、圓錐體或多邊形錐體。
- 如申請專利範圍第9項所述之撓式顯示裝置,其中該些第二彎曲限制結構為梯形錐體。
- 如申請專利範圍第8項所述之撓式顯示裝置,其中各該第二彎曲限制結構在與該顯示面平行之方向上的截面積係朝遠離該顯示面的方向逐漸減小。
- 如申請專利範圍第7項所述之撓式顯示裝置,其中該些第二彎曲限制結構為一體成型。
- 一種撓式顯示裝置,其包括:一顯示面板,具有一顯示面以及與該顯示面相對的一底面,該顯示面具有一可視區以及一外圍區,其中該外圍區係環繞該可視區,該顯示面板包括多個驅動晶片,設置於該外圍區內;以及多個彎曲限制結構,配置於該底面上而對應至該顯示面的該外圍區,且該些彎曲限制結構分別對應至該些驅動晶片的其中之一,其中各該彎曲限制結構具有一頂面及至少一斜向側壁,且相鄰之該些彎曲限制結構的該些頂面彼 此間隔,而該些斜向側壁彼此相對。
- 如申請專利範圍第13項所述之撓式顯示裝置,其中該些彎曲限制結構為錐體。
- 如申請專利範圍第14項所述之撓式顯示裝置,其中該些彎曲限制結構為三角錐體、圓錐體或多邊形錐體。
- 如申請專利範圍第15項所述之撓式顯示裝置,其中該些彎曲限制結構為梯形錐體。
- 如申請專利範圍第14項所述之撓式顯示裝置,其中各該彎曲限制結構在與該顯示面平行之方向上的截面積係朝遠離該顯示面的方向逐漸減小。
- 如申請專利範圍第13項所述之撓式顯示裝置,其中該些彎曲限制結構為一體成型。
