Description
本發明係關於一種電連接器,且特定言之,係關於一種用於連接一軟性印刷電路(FPC)板的電連接器。
FPC連接器在電子裝置及電子系統中廣為使用以在一軟性印刷電路板與一主電路板之間建立電連接。除提供電連接之外,此類連接器亦與FPC機械地附接在一起以防止斷開。一習知FPC連接器使用金屬件以將FPC固持至該連接器。在將FPC安裝至連接器期間,金屬件可能刮擦FPC且因此FPC上之電路可能被損害。
因此期望提供一種能夠不會刮擦或損害FPC電路而可靠固持FPC的FPC連接器。
本文所揭示為用於連接軟性印刷電路(FPC)板的電連接器。在一實施例中,一種電連接器具有一外殼及安置於該外殼中之接觸端子。一致動器係可樞轉地附接至該外殼。該外殼具有在其等之間界定一固持部分的一對保持部件。一FPC板係插入至該固持部分中且藉由該致動器而固定至該外殼以與該等接觸端子建立電連接。各保持部件係由附接至該外殼以增加固持強度的一金屬支架支撐。該金屬支架具有一主部分、皆延伸成與該主部分垂直之一固定部分及一支撐部分。形成於該FPC板之側邊之一對凸出部與該等保持部件接合使得得以防止該FPC板從該外殼向後移動。該保持部件係安置於該軟性印刷電路板與該支架之間以防止該軟性印刷電路板與該直接直接接觸。得以防止該金屬支架對該FPC之刮擦或損害的可能性。
將參考附圖詳細描述本發明之此等及其他態樣與優點。
如圖1所展示,一種根據本發明之一實施例的FPC電連接器100具有一外殼110及安置於外殼110中的接觸端子120。一致動器130可樞轉地附接至外殼110用於將一FPC固定至連接器100。外殼110具有一安裝表面112,接觸端子120部分暴露於安裝表面112處。在安裝表面112之兩側設置有一對保持部件或止檔114。鄰近各保持部件114形成有一凹口116。一對金屬支架140係附接至外殼110。各支架140被附接且支撐一保持部件114。
如圖2、圖3及圖4所展示,一FPC板10具有形成於側邊的一對凸出部16。為連接至連接器100,將FPC板10放置於安裝表面112上,其中該對凸出部16被收納於該對凹口116中。由於凸出部16與保持部件114間之接合,所以FPC板10被固持至外殼110使得得以防止FPC板10之向後移動,亦即沿圖3所描繪之一方向20之移動。致動器130接著可靠近加壓FPC板10抵靠安裝表面112,以完成如圖4所展示FPC板10至連接器10的組裝。此外,各位於該外殼110與一各自保持部件114之間之該對凹口116,其中該保持部件114之該凹槽係定位成包圍該凹口116。
如圖5及圖6所展示,各支架140具有一主體142、一端處之一固持突部144,以及另一端處之一固定突部148。固持突部144及固定突部148係垂直於主體142。鄰近固持突部
144形成有一凹槽146。
在外殼110之各側,形成有圖6所展示的一凹溝118,一支架140係插入至該凹溝118中且固定至外殼110,以增加保持部件114之強度及剛度。固持突部144係放置成以無法從凹口116直接接達至固持突部144之一方式鄰近且支撐保持部件114。換言之,保持部件114之一部分係定位在固持突部144與凹口116之間。另外,固持突部144比保持部件114稍短,使得在FPC板10在保持部件114之頂表面滑動(例如在將FPC 10安裝至外殼110期間)時,即使FPC板10接觸保持部件114之頂表面,FPC板10仍不會觸碰固持突部144。因此得以避免支架從保持部件144之頂表面或從凹口116對FPC板之刮擦的可能性,且防止對FPC電路的可能損害。
由於固定突部148係垂直於主體142,沿圖3所展示之方向20由FPC板10所引起之一拉力將經由凸出部16與凹口116之接合而被支架140充分吸收。支架140將不會因此拉力而從外殼110處脫離。
保持部件114亦可在固持突部144與固定突部148之間包含一接合突部147。當保持部件114被附接至外殼110時,接合突部147自將與致動器130接觸之外殼110突出。如圖3及圖5所展示,在FPC 10安裝至連接器100或從連接器100移除之過程期間,致動器130係繞接合突部147樞轉且由該接合突部147支撐。如此一來,相較於其中致動器僅由可輕易磨損之外殼部件支撐的習知連接器,接合突部147提
供對致動器130更強且更可靠的支撐。
圖7及圖8展示本發明的另一實施例。與先前實施例之變動在於支架240之固持突部244被插入至形成於保持部件214上的一孔中,因此當支架240附接至外殼210時固持突部244被保持部件214所包圍。相應地不存在如先前實施例之情形對支架240的正面接達。在安裝過程期間,一FPC板將不會從連接器之正面側觸碰支架且因此本實施例提供進一步保護措施。
圖9及圖10顯示本發明之另一實施例。在本實施例中,該支架340之固持突部344具有一成角度結構。此結構之支架具有一較高的剛度,且允許固持突部344圍繞保持部件314之一隅角,因此可進一步增進保持部件314之強度及剛度。當該連接器之實體尺寸較小且其中該保持部件係薄且弱時,此結構係有用的。

Claims (8)
- 一種電連接器,其包括:具有一對保持部件之一外殼,該對保持部件在其等之間界定一安裝表面用於收納一軟性印刷電路板;安置於該外殼中之複數個接觸端子;附接至該外殼之一對支架,各支架支撐一對應保持部件;其中當在該安裝表面收納該軟性印刷電路板時,該等保持部件接合設置於該軟性印刷電路板上之一對凸出部以防止該軟性印刷電路板自該連接器處脫離,且其中該等保持部件之一部分係定位於該軟性印刷電路板與該支架之間以防止該軟性印刷電路板與該支架的直接接觸。
- 如請求項1之電連接器,其中各支架包含一主體、形成於該主體之一端之一固持突部、形成於該主體之另一端之一固定突部,以及該固持突部與該固定突部之間之一凹槽,其中該固定突部係插入至該外殼的一凹溝中,且該固持突部係附接至該保持部件。
- 如請求項2之電連接器,其中該固持突部係附接至該保持部件的一外部側。
- 如請求項2之電連接器,其中該保持部件具有一孔,該固持突部係插入至該孔中使得該固持突部為該保持部件所包圍。
- 如請求項4之電連接器,其中該固持突部係定位於該保 持部件之一頂表面之下方。
- 如請求項2之電連接器,其中該固持突部具有包圍該保持部件之一隅角之一成角度結構。
- 如請求項2之電連接器,其進一步包括各位於該外殼與一各自保持部件之間之一對凹口,其中該保持部件之該凹槽係定位成包圍該凹口。
- 如請求項2之電連接器,其進一步包括可樞轉地安裝至該外殼的一致動器,其中該保持部件在該固定突部與該固持突部之間進一步包括一接合突部,其中該接合突部自該外殼突出以接合該致動器。
