Abstract

A method to set the address of I2C (Inter-Integrated circuit) bus dynamically is disclosed, which can dynamically set the device address of I2C bus device to solve the address confliction of one I2C bus with the other I2C buses. The method of the present invention comprises the following steps: (a) preset an used address; (b) start the data transmission from the I2C bus to the integrated circuit device; (c) transmit the unused address to the integrated circuit device; (d) send a special character string sequentially to the integrated circuit device for driving the integrated circuit to set its own address as the unused address; and (e) send a stop signal to the integrated circuit device to end the data transmission from the I2C bus to the integrated circuit device.
