Abstract
A process for preparation of surfur by selective oxidation of hydrogen sulfur including: H2S-containing gas contacts with an Oxygen-containing gas at 100~260 deg.C in the presence of a mixed-metal catalyst. The reaction product contains no sulfur dioxide and is characterized by the mixed-metal catalyst containing vanadium atom and molybdenum atom or magnesium atom. mole ratios for Va/Mg is between 1:1 and 5:1 concentration of H2S is 0.8~3 volume%. The mole of oxygen-containing is over half of H2S.
