Abstract

The present invention discloses a replaceable cooling fan module, which can be disposed in an electronic device, and is also allowed to be withdrawn from the electronic device. The replaceable cooling fan module comprises: a rectangular frame, a filter member disposed in the rectangular frame and a plurality of cooling fans, in which the filter member has a tongue for being pulling. By such arrangements, in case of the fact that the replaceable cooling fan module is positioned in a housing case of the electronic device, a user is able to pull the tongue so as to withdrawn the rectangular frame from the electronic device. Then, the user is able to remove the used filter from the rectangular frame, thereby putting a new filter into the rectangular frame. On the other hand, it is also allowed for the user to withdraw the whole replaceable cooling fan module from the housing case, and then replaces at least one malfunction cooling fan by a new one, thereby pushing the replaceable cooling fan module back into the housing case.

Description

Extraction type heat dissipation fan module and electronic device containing the same

The present invention relates to the technical field of heat dissipation fans, and in particular to an extraction type heat dissipation fan module.

It is known that computer systems include: desktop computers, laptops, all-in-one computers, industrial computers, server hosts, video game hosts, etc. It should be known that the aforementioned computer systems are all equipped with at least one cooling fan to assist the electronic chips and/or electronic modules inside the case to dissipate heat. FIG1 is a schematic three-dimensional diagram of a known computer system. As shown in FIG1, the known computer system 1a includes: a case 11a, necessary electronic components 12a and a plurality of cooling fans 13a, wherein the necessary electronic components 12a include a processor chip, a graphics chip, a DRAM module and a hard disk device. It should be known that when the computer system 1a operates normally, the electronic components 12a will generate heat in the process of processing/transmitting data, and the plurality of heat dissipation fans 13a operate to discharge the heat out of the casing 11a.

An information engineer familiar with the design and manufacture of any computer system 1a must know that at least one outer surface of the case 11a is provided with a plurality of vent holes, and an exhaust side of the heat dissipation fan 13a faces at least one of the vent holes, so that the heat dissipation fan 13a can discharge hot air out of the case 11a through the vent holes. However, practical experience has shown that the known computer system 1a having the structure shown in FIG. 1 has defects and deficiencies, which are summarized as follows: (1) After being used for a period of time, some of the vent holes will be embedded with lint and dust, which will prevent the heat dissipation fan 13a from discharging hot air out of the case 11a through the vent holes. (2) After a period of use, one or more cooling fans 13a may fail to operate normally due to damaged parts. At this time, the engineer must open the entire housing 11a to replace the cooling fan 13a, which is quite inconvenient.

As can be seen from the above description, the existing computer system with multiple cooling fans has practical defects that need to be improved. Therefore, the creator of the present invention has made great efforts to research and invent, and finally developed and completed the present invention of an extractable cooling fan module.

The main purpose of the present invention is to provide a removable heat dissipation fan module, which is arranged in a casing of an electronic device and allows it to be pulled out from the casing. According to the design of the present invention, the removable heat dissipation fan module mainly includes: a rectangular frame, a filter arranged in the rectangular frame, and a plurality of heat dissipation fans, wherein the filter has a tongue. Therefore, when the removable heat dissipation fan module is arranged in the casing, the used filter can be pulled out from the rectangular frame by pulling the tongue, and then another new filter can be placed in the rectangular frame. On the other hand, the entire extractable cooling fan module can be extracted from the housing, and then the cooling fan that is working abnormally can be removed and replaced with a new cooling fan, and then the extractable cooling fan module can be pushed into the housing.

To achieve the above-mentioned purpose, the present invention proposes an embodiment of the extractable heat dissipation fan module, which is arranged in a casing of an electronic device and includes: A rectangular frame having a plate, an upper bending plate connected to the top of the plate, and a lower bending plate connected to the bottom of the plate, and the upper bending plate, the plate and the lower bending plate surround a receiving groove; A filter, arranged in the receiving groove; and A plurality of heat dissipation fans, arranged adjacent to a first side of the plate, so that each of the heat dissipation fans faces the filter with an air outlet side thereof and faces the interior of the casing with an air inlet side thereof; Wherein, a second side of the plate faces a side plate of the housing, the second side and the first side are two opposite sides of the plate, the plate is provided with a plurality of first ventilation holes, and the side plate is provided with a plurality of second ventilation holes; Wherein, a tongue is provided at the front end of the filter, and the filter can be taken out of the accommodating groove by pulling the tongue.

In one embodiment, the rectangular frame further includes: a supporting plate disposed on the first side of the plate and connected to the lower folding plate, so that the plurality of heat dissipation fans are disposed on the supporting plate; and a front panel disposed on the supporting plate and connected to the upper folding plate.

In one embodiment, the front panel is provided with an opening and a first locking portion, and a first hinge portion is provided on the top side of the front panel.

In one embodiment, a circuit board is disposed on the carrier board, a plurality of electrical connectors are disposed on the circuit board, and the plurality of heat dissipation fans are respectively coupled to the plurality of electrical connectors through a plurality of cables.

In a feasible embodiment, the extractable heat dissipation fan module of the present invention further includes: a cover plate having a second hinge portion hinged to the first hinge portion; and a first locking member screwed into the first locking portion through the cover plate, so that the cover plate is coupled to the front panel and covers the opening and a front notch of the receiving slot.

In one embodiment, after the first locking member is screwed out from the first locking portion and the cover plate is rotated at an angle to expose the front notch of the receiving tank, the filter element can be removed from the receiving tank by pulling the tongue.

In one embodiment, a front plate of the housing is provided with a front opening, so that the extractable heat dissipation fan module passes through the front opening and is disposed in the housing.

In one embodiment, the front panel has a second locking portion located in the front opening, so that a second locking member is screwed into the second locking portion through the front panel.

In one embodiment, after the second locking member is screwed out from the second locking portion, the second locking member can be pulled to remove the extractable heat dissipation fan module from the housing.

In one embodiment, the circuit board is electrically connected to a main board disposed in the housing, and a micro switch is disposed in the housing and electrically connected to a fan control chip disposed on the main board.

In one embodiment, a control portion of the micro switch is located in the front opening, and after the extractable cooling fan module is placed in the housing, the front panel pushes down the control portion to switch the micro switch from an open state to an open state, thereby enabling the fan control chip to drive and control the operation of the plurality of cooling fans.

Furthermore, the present invention also provides an embodiment of an electronic device, which includes a casing and a mainboard disposed in the casing, wherein a front panel of the casing is provided with a front opening; the device is characterized in that it further includes the extractable heat dissipation fan of the present invention as described above, and the extractable heat dissipation fan module passes through the front opening and is disposed in the casing.

In order to more clearly describe the extractable heat dissipation fan module and the electronic device including the same proposed by the present invention, the following will be combined with the drawings to explain in detail the preferred embodiments of the present invention.

Please refer to FIGS. 2A, 2B and 2C, which are respectively first, second and third perspective views of an electronic device including a removable cooling fan module of the present invention. As shown in Figure 2A, Figure 2B and Figure 2C, the electronic device 2 can be but is not limited to a server, a switch, a router, a gateway, an industrial computer, a desktop computer, or an all-in-one computer. , a smart TV, or a projector, and it includes a chassis 21 and a motherboard disposed on the chassis 21 . Among them, a front plate 21F of the casing 21 is provided with a front opening 21O, so that the extractable cooling fan module 1 of the present invention can pass through the front opening 21O and be installed in the casing 21 .

FIG3A and FIG3B are respectively the first and second three-dimensional views of a removable heat dissipation fan module of the present invention. FIG4A is a three-dimensional exploded view of the removable heat dissipation fan module shown in FIG3A, and FIG4B is a three-dimensional exploded view of the removable heat dissipation fan module shown in FIG3B. According to the design of the present invention, the removable heat dissipation fan module 1 includes: a rectangular frame 11, a filter 12, a plurality of heat dissipation fans 13, a cover 1C, a circuit board 15, a plurality of electrical connectors 16, a first locking member 17, and a second locking member 18. As shown in FIG. 4A and FIG. 4B , the rectangular frame 11 includes: a plate 11P, an upper folding plate 11U, a lower folding plate 11L, a supporting plate 11S, and a front panel 1F, wherein the upper folding plate 11U is connected to the top side of the plate 11P, and the lower folding plate 11L is connected to the bottom side of the plate 11P.

According to the design of the present invention, a plurality of ribs 11R connect the upper bending plate 11U and the lower bending plate 11L, thereby enclosing a receiving groove 111 together with the upper bending plate 11U, the plate 11P and the lower bending plate 11L, so that the filter 12 can be disposed in the receiving groove 111. On the other hand, the supporting plate 11S is disposed on a first side of the plate 11P and connected to the lower bending plate 11L. Furthermore, a second side of the plate 11P faces a side panel 21S of the housing 21, and the second side and the first side are two opposite sides of the plate 11P. A plurality of first ventilation holes 112 are provided on the plate 11P, and a plurality of second ventilation holes 21V are provided on the side panel 21S.

To explain in more detail, the front panel 1F is disposed on the supporting plate 11S and is connected to the upper folding plate 11U. In addition, the front panel 1F is provided with an opening 1F1 and a first locking portion 1F2, and a first pivoting portion 1F3 is provided on the top side of the front panel 1F. As shown in FIGS. 2A to 4B, the cover 1C has a second pivoting portion 1C1 pivotally connected to the first pivoting portion 1F3. It is worth noting that the first locking member 17 is screwed into the first locking portion 1F2 through the cover 1C, so that the cover 1C is coupled to the front panel 1F and covers the opening 1F1 and a front notch of the receiving groove 111.

As shown in FIG. 2A to FIG. 4B , the plurality of heat dissipation fans 13 are disposed on the carrier plate 11S, so that each of the heat dissipation fans 13 faces the filter 12 with an air outlet side thereof and faces the interior of the housing 21 with an air inlet side thereof. Furthermore, the circuit board 15 is disposed on the carrier plate 11S, and the plurality of electrical connectors 16 are disposed on the circuit board 15, so that the plurality of heat dissipation fans 13 can be coupled to the plurality of electrical connectors 16 respectively through a plurality of cables. It is additionally explained that the circuit board 15 is electrically connected to a main board disposed in the housing 21, and a micro switch 1M is disposed in the housing 21 and is electrically connected to a fan control chip disposed on the main board.

Continuing to refer to FIG. 2A to FIG. 4B, and also to FIG. 5A and FIG. 5B, which are respectively the third and fourth three-dimensional views of the extractable heat dissipation fan module of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 2A to FIG. 5B, since the filter 12 has a tongue 121, when the extractable heat dissipation fan module 1 is disposed in the housing 21, the first locking member 17 can be firstly screwed out from the first locking portion 1F2 and then the cover 1C can be rotated at an angle to expose the front notch of the accommodating groove 111, and then the tongue 121 can be pulled to remove the filter 12 from the accommodating groove 111. Afterwards, the filter 12 can be put back into the receiving tank 111 after the lint and dust on the filter 12 are removed. Of course, after taking out the used filter 12, another new filter 12 can also be directly placed into the receiving tank 111.

To explain in more detail, the front panel 21F of the housing 21 has a second locking portion 21FF located in the front opening 21O. Therefore, after the removable cooling fan module 1 is placed in the housing 21, the second locking member 18 can be screwed into the second locking portion 21FF through the front panel 1F to fix the removable cooling fan module 15. On the contrary, when the entire removable cooling fan module 1 is to be removed from the housing 21, the second locking member 18 must first be screwed out of the second locking portion 21FF, and then the second locking member 18 must be pulled to remove the removable cooling fan module from the housing 21. At this time, the abnormally working cooling fan 13 can be removed and replaced with a new cooling fan 13, and then the extractable cooling fan module 1 can be pushed back into the housing 21. It is worth noting that a control portion 1M1 of the micro switch 1M is located in the front opening 21O. Therefore, after the extractable cooling fan module 1 is pushed back into the housing 21, the front panel 1F pushes down the control portion 1M1, so that the micro switch 1M switches from a disconnected state to a connected state, thereby enabling the fan control chip to drive and control the operation of the plurality of cooling fans 13.

Claims (13)

A removable heat dissipation fan module is disposed in a housing of an electronic device and includes: A rectangular frame having a plate, an upper bending plate connected to the top of the plate, and a lower bending plate connected to the bottom of the plate, wherein the upper bending plate, the plate and the lower bending plate surround a receiving groove; A filter disposed in the receiving groove; and A plurality of heat dissipation fans disposed adjacent to a first side of the plate, so that each of the heat dissipation fans faces the filter with an air outlet side thereof and faces the interior of the housing with an air inlet side thereof; Wherein, a second side of the plate faces a side plate of the housing, the second side and the first side are two opposite sides of the plate, the plate is provided with a plurality of first ventilation holes, and the side plate is provided with a plurality of second ventilation holes; Wherein, a tongue is provided at the front end of the filter, and the filter can be taken out of the accommodating groove 111 by pulling the tongue. The extractable cooling fan module as described in claim 1, wherein the rectangular frame further comprises: A supporting plate disposed on the first side of the plate and connected to the lower folding plate, so that the plurality of cooling fans are disposed on the supporting plate; and A front panel disposed on the supporting plate and connected to the upper folding plate. The extractable heat dissipation fan module as described in claim 4 further comprises: a cover plate having a second hinge portion hinged to the first hinge portion; and a first locking member screwed into the first locking portion through the cover plate, so that the cover plate is coupled to the front panel and covers the opening and a front notch of the receiving slot. As described in claim 5, the removable heat dissipation fan module, wherein after the first locking member is screwed out from the first locking portion and the cover is then rotated at an angle to expose the front notch of the accommodating groove, the filter element can be removed from the accommodating groove by dragging the tongue. As described in claim 6, the extractable heat dissipation fan module, wherein a front plate of the casing is provided with a front opening, so that the extractable heat dissipation fan module passes through the front opening and is disposed in the casing. As described in claim 7, the removable heat dissipation fan module, wherein the front panel has a second locking portion located in the front opening, so that a second locking member is screwed into the second locking portion through the front panel. The removable heat dissipation fan module as described in claim 8, wherein after the second locking member is screwed out from the second locking portion, the removable heat dissipation fan module can be removed from the casing by dragging the second locking member.
