Abstract

The present invention is related to a scanning method and device of single layer capacitive touch panel on which multiple sets of electrodes and multiple shielding units. Each shielding unit is formed between each two adjacent sets of electrodes. The scanning method performs a self capacitive scanning procedure to supply a first driving signal to drive the set of electrode and the shielding unit next to the driven set of electrode at the same time. After then, a self capacitance is received from the driven set of electrode. The scanning method also performs a mutual capacitive scanning procedure to supply a second driving signal to drive the set of electrode when the shielding unit is connected to ground. After then, a mutual capacitance coupled with the driven set of electrode is received.
