Abstract

A signal corresponding to a brake operation is input to a brake signal input terminal. A processing unit controls an automatic stop and startup of the engine. The processing unit performs an automatic stop operation to stop the engine automatically when the conditions of the engine automatic stop are met. When the conditions of the engine automatic startup are met during the engine is automatically stopped, the processing unit performs the automatic startup operation to start the engine automatically. During the engine is automatically stopped, after the time duration of the state where the conditions of an unattended-state judgement are met reaches an unattended-state judgement threshold value, the processing unit performs an automatic startup prohibition operation to prohibit the automatic startup of the engine. The conditions of the unattended-state judgement include a condition that a brake is not operated.
