Abstract

The present invention provides an intelligent pill box, medication reminder apparatus and method thereof. The intelligent pill box includes a case, a pill holder for retaining medicines, a microprocessor, a Wi-Fi module or a 2G/3G/4G module, and an alert indicator. The microprocessor receives, via the Wi-Fi or 2G/3G/4G module, information regarding the prescribed time and interval of medication dosing and stores the information. Upon the scheduled time, the microprocessor reminds a patient to take their medication by sending an alert signal through the alert indicator. The medication reminder apparatus includes the intelligent pill box, a remote server, and a router which connects the pill box and the remote server over a network. Since being wirelessly connected to the network, the intelligent pill box of the present invention automatically updates the prescription medication data, with no manual input, while realizing a simple but effective device that prevents mishandling of the device and assists a patient in managing their intake of prescription and compliance with prescribed regimens.
