Abstract

The present invention relates to a polarizer and a liquid crystal display device. The polarizer includes a first protective layer, a second protective layer, a polarization base sandwiched between the first and second protective layers, and an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer is located at a side of first protective layer opposite from the side where the polarization base is adjacent. Microstructures are attached to the second protective layer at a side of the second protective layer opposite the side where the polarization base is adjacent.
