Abstract

A backlight module and a light source device thereof are provided. The light source device includes a light emitting unit and a lens which encloses the light emitting unit. The light emitting unit has a light exit surface facing a light entrance side of a light guide element. The lens has a top surface and a light collecting sidewall surface. The top surface is corresponding to the light exit surface and located between the light exit surface and the light entrance side of the light guide element. The light collecting sidewall surface is on a long side of the lens and curvedly extends toward the light emitting unit from the long side edge of the top surface. The light collecting sidewall surface is disposed corresponding to the first direction of the light generated from the light emitting unit and changes the first direction of the light to a second direction, which is closer to the top surface of the lens.
