Abstract

Systems and methods are disclosed for authorizing access to electronic content. In one exemplary embodiment, there is provided a method for authorizing access to a piece of electronic content stored in memory. The method includes receiving a request to access the electronic content; retrieving a license associated with the electronic content; and executing a first control program using a digital rights management engine to determine if the request may be granted. Other exemplary embodiments may include evaluating one or more link objects stored in memory and executing a second control program to determine if the link(s) are valid and/or whether one or more conditions are satisfied.
