Abstract

A display panel has an EL element including an organic functional layer having a light emission layer of a wavelength λ and first and second electrodes sandwiching the functional layer, and a substrate. A composite layer having an inorganic material film and an organic material film is provided between the substrate and organic EL element. The refractive index of the organic material film is less than that of the inorganic material film, and the optical length L of the organic material film satisfies λ2/L≤FWHM (PL), where PL is an emission spectrum of the emission layer, and FWHM is half-width of the emission spectrum.
