Abstract

The present invention provides an automatic adjustment method for the brightness of LCD, which is aimed at solving the problems such as high loading of human eyes as well as eye tiredness caused by watching the LCD for a long period of time, and poor image contrast due to the regular high-brightness characteristic. The invention is featured with four main parts. The first part is the image brightness adjustment unit. The second part is the image brightness indication rate calculation and output control unit. The third part is the environment light detection and brightness adaptation adjustment unit. The fourth part is the image gray level number extending unit. By using the innovated and unique design, after the image signal of LCD is sequentially processed through these four steps, it is capable of reaching the purpose of automatically controlling LCD TV light flux through the use of adjusting output image gray level value. In addition, light flux emitted by LCD TV can be automatically controlled by following the image content and variations of the environment light so as to lessen over load of human eyes caused by watching programs for a long period of time. Furthermore, it is capable of increasing contrast and comfortable feeling of the image so as to make LCD achieve even better vision effect and make it even close to the need of the consumer.
