Abstract

A novel design of a high isolation dual-polarized planar antenna comprises a radiating member, a feeding member and a ground plane member. The radiating member is a square metal. The feeding member comprises a invest triangle metal plane and a short pin. One end of the pin is connected to the first, second sub-feeding member and the other end is connected to a signal source. The two feeding port are placed 90DEG apart for excite two orthogonal polarized. The ground plane member comprises a planar ground plane with a invest L shape ground plane. The invest L shape ground plane comprises a Horizontal ground plane and a vertical plane with an increase of the optimal distance between radiating member is very effective in improving the isolation of the two feeding ports. The high isolation dual-polarized planar antenna of the present invention has experimental results of one embodiment designed for the 2.4-GHz WLAN application (2400-2484 MHz) show that the measured isolation (S21) is less than -30 dB and good dual-polarized radiation operation have also been observed.
