Abstract
The present invention relates to a camera module without lens barrel for a mobile communication device. More particularly, it relates to the camera module having a waterproof housing and a lens protective cover that can be easily injection molded. The waterproof housing and the lens protective cover are easy to be assembled. Some accessories such as lens/lens assembly, an imaging element (CCD (charge coupled device)) can be precisely focused upon in component assembly to increase horizontal resolution for the camera module without lens barrel of the mobile communication device. This module includes an imaging element (CCD) wire-bonded on a flexible PCB, a hollow-type waterproof housing fastened on the flexible PCB and containing the above-mentioned imaging element (CCD) having a built-in IR–Cut Filter for protecting CCD from infrared-ray irradiation, a lens/lens assembly located above of the IR–Cut Filter and built in the waterproof housing, and a lens protective cover fastened and supported on the upper end face of the waterproofing housing while being formed with a lens hole in the center of its upper surface.
