Abstract

A bipolar plate composition containing vapor-grown carbon fibers (VGCF) with 3-D linkaged structure and a method for producing the same are disclosed. The bipolar plate composition includes graphitized VGCF with 3-D linkaged structure, graphite powder and a binder, wherein the content of the VGCF therein is smaller than about 20 wt% and greater than 0%. The VGCF with 3-D linkaged structure is directly-grown by a fluidized bed process, then graphitized and mixed with graphite powder and binder to form a mixture which undergoes a moulding process to form the bipolar plate of the present invention.
