Abstract

Provided is a paste dispenser and a method for controlling the paste dispenser. The paste dispenser includes a sensor part moving in a vertical direction perpendicular to a substrate, a nozzle part mounted on the sensor part, moving in the direction perpendicular to the substrate and a position measurement sensor outputting a change in a difference between the sensor part and the nozzle part as a digital signal. According to the present invention, a change in a position of the nozzle part with respect to a position of the sensor part is output as digital signals, without generating an electrical equivalent of noise. This makes it possible to precisely measure the distance the nozzle and the substrate and to largely reduce a defect percentage and a processing time for setting the vertical distance between the nozzle and the substrate.
