Abstract

Conducting wires of fluorescent lamp and contact part of connector are soldered together in the past for a backlight device with the use of fluorescent lamp. The operation efficiency is low due to soldering being performed in a limited space of the mutually proximately arranged fluorescent lamps. The present invention uses a main body 3 and a sliding piece 5 to form a connector 1 of a backlight device. The contact part 9 of the main body 3 and conducting wires 13 of fluorescent lamp 2 can establish or release electrical contact by sliding the sliding piece 5 along a side board 4. Settlement of the fluorescent lamp 2 and compression connection of the conducting wires 13 and the contact part 9 can be performed simultaneously using a holding tool 24.
