Abstract

A scanning driving apparatus for a backlight source includes a driving unit, a backlight source containing a plurality of light sources, a switch unit and a scan control unit. The method which the apparatus drives the backlight source is to control the switch unit to light up the light sources of the backlight source one by one according to a control signal provided by the scan control unit. It can improve the appearance effect of an LCD device, and eliminate double images produced by a moving picture on an LCD. The invention can only use a driving unit to drive the light sources, so the cost reduces greatly. In addition, the switch unit controlling each light sources lights or not, may be placed on the low-voltage side of the light sources to reduce the power consumption and to increase the safety.
