Abstract

A process of fabricating a composite sandwich structure with curved surface includes laminating with suitable layers of fabric on a mold and then performing a vacuum assisted resin transfer molding to form a front surface layer of the composite sandwich structure with curved surface. Thereafter, a honeycomb core is adherenced to the front surface layer with resin by means of vacuum molding, and potting compound is filled in the honeycomb core along an edge line of the profile of part. Afterward, another vacuum molding is performed to form a back surface layer of the composite sandwich structure with curved surface, and then the front surface layer, the honeycomb core and the back surface layer are cut according to the profile line of the composite sandwich structure with curved surface.
