Abstract

In order to effectively minimize the number of identification calculations and improve the identification efficiency, the present invention provides a fingerprint image identification positioning method comprising the following steps: defining a plurality of virtual grids in a fingerprint image to be identified, where each virtual grid has at least one ridge; connecting the end points of a ridge to form a judging line having at least four optional fingerprint directions corresponding to at least four different colors, respectively, and selecting one of the fingerprint directions for judging before replacing each virtual grid by a corresponding color to transform the fingerprint image to be identified into a color image to be identified; comparing the color image to be identified with a pre-stored standard color image to locate the position of a similar block; and finally, performing identification by comparing the fingerprint image in the similar block of the fingerprint image to be identified with the standard fingerprint image.
