Abstract

A three-dimensionally textured nonwoven fabric 10 has constituent fibers compressed or bonded to one another in parts to form a number of joined parts 25 and, in parts other than the joined parts 25, has constituent fibers joined to one another at their intersections by means other than compression or bonding. The joined parts 25 provide depressions 12, and the parts between the depressions 12 provide protrusions 11 to make a three-dimensional contour on at least one side of the nonwoven fabric 10. Heat extensible fiber that stretches on heating is used as the constituent fibers.
