Abstract

The present invention provides a cable connector for preventing neighboring core wires from being shorted when a plurality of contacts and the core wires of corresponding cables are soldered in a multi-terminal connector, the cable connector thereby achieving a high connection reliability for the soldering. A plug connector P (cable connector) comprises a plug-retaining member 10 made of an electrically insulative material, in which a plurality of plug contacts 40 are arranged and retained side by side at a predetermined pitch, with the upper surfaces of the connecting portions 42 of the plug contacts 40 being soldered onto core wires 51, respectively. In the upper surface of the plug-retaining member 10, central grooves (recesses) 13a are provided, each groove being positioned between one and succeeding one of the plug contacts 40.
