Abstract

A method, which uses the face images captured by the common video conference camera, controls the computer mouse by tracking the user's head rotation and eyes movement. It adopts real-time digital image processing to identify the locations of the eyes and lips. By tracking the three feature points mentioned above, our method can determine the angles of the head rotation and eyes movement. Then, combined with the function menu which is composed of click, double click, drag, and so on, our method can fully replace the normal computer mouse. Finally, it can really benefit the people, who are not capable of using normal computer mouse, by allowing them to display their own minds through computers and enjoy the multimedia entertainment in the digital era.
