Abstract

The subject of the present invention is to provide a compact IC card connector adaptive to plural kinds of IC cards with varying sizes and forms. An IC card is inserted into the insert hole of a connector housing, so that the electrode of IC card is connected to the contact in the insertion hole. The first and the second IC card insertion holes, which have nearly identical length, width, and electrode pitches but different number of electrodes, and the third IC card insert hole, which is narrower, longer, and thicker than the first and the second IC cards, are formed by sharing the overlapped part in width and length while extending a different part in width and thick directions. The fourth IC card insertion hole, which is wider than the first, the second, and the third IC card insertion holes, is provided to conduct with the first, the second, and the third IC card insert holes, so as to form the two-staged IC card connector.
