Abstract

The complex catalyzes bleaching of a substrate with atmospheric oxygen, the composition being essentially a peroxygen bleach or a peroxy- It does not contain a substantial or peroxy-producing bleach system. A method for bleaching a substrate is also provided, which method comprises applying the liquid bleaching composition to the substrate. Also provided is a method of treating a textile material by contacting the textile material with the liquid bleach composition, by which the complex catalyzes the bleaching of the textile material with atmospheric oxygen after treatment.
