Kumaslardan kirlerin kuru temizlenmesi için, seçilmis surfaktan ile kombine edilen yogunlastirilmis karbon dioksit içeren bir sistem tarif edilmistir. Yogunlastirilmis karbon dioksit yaklasik -78.5 C- yaklasik 100 C sicaklik araliginda ve yaklasik 14.7 psi - yaklasik 10,000 psi basinç araliginda kullanilmaktadir. Surfaktan metinde tarif edildigi gib formül (I)'e sahip olan iki grup birlesigin birinden veya tarif edildigi gibi [AB]y formulüne sahip olan ikinci bir siloksan grubunun birlesiklerinden seçilmektedir. Ayni zamanda kuru temizleme sistemini kullanmak için bir islem tarif edilmektedir.
