Aygit, bir bilgi tasiyici üzerindeki bilgilerin okunmasi ve/veya yazilmasi için uyarlanmistir. Bilgi tasiyici anahtar bilgi tasiyicidan okunmaktadir. M-bit ana anahtar bir R belirtecine dayanilarak bir p sayisinin saptanmasiyla ve p sayisi ile tanimlanan bir konumdan bir N-bit seridinin okunmasiyla türetilmektedir. Bu sekilde, bir bilgi tasiyicidan bir digerine bilgilerin yasadisi kopyalanmasinin engellenmesi mümkün olmaktadir.
