Abstract
A piezo-cable of the required length is shaped as a spiral spring (1) to provide higher electrical output for mechanical stresses. The sensor, which can measure dynamic pressures and shocks, is produced by placing the cable in a silicone rubber (2). This sensor transforms the pressures and shocks parallel or normal to the spiral axis to electrical signals. Different rubber structures and sensor envelopes (3) can be used for different applications.
