Description

Activated carbon is an excellent means for cleaning solutions of vitamin C from undesirable impurities (coloring agents, etc.), but it has two undesirable properties with respect to ascorbic acid, due to which its use for this purpose could not mark the place, namely: activated carbon from one side vigorously oxidizes vitamin C, converting it into dehydroform, on the other hand, it can adsorb ascorbic acid, absorbing it from pure solutions in an amount of from 80 to 200 mg per 1 g of coal, depending from the activity of the latter.

Выход витамина С почти количественный 90- 95%, если концентрации витамина не слишком низки; при малых концентраци х относительные потери возрастают .It is known that the treatment of activated carbon with hydrosulfite; sodium only eliminates the oxidizing effect of coal, while the proposed method eliminates the adsorption of ascorbic acid without significantly reducing the activity of the coal with respect to undesirable impurities. The method is characterized in that 20-25% of ethyl alcohol or 2-3% of y KtycHO ethyl ether is added to the solutions to be purified or drained of vitamin C before filtering through the corner. The yield of vitamin C is almost quantitative 90-95%, if the concentration of the vitamin is not too low; at low concentrations, the relative losses increase.

The subject matter of the invention.

The method of purifying aqueous extracts of vitamin C using activated carbon, characterized in that, in order to remove vitamin adsorption from the vitamin, 20-25% of the whole mixture is added to the aqueous extract of vitamin C before filtering through the angle. or ethyl acetate in the amount of 2-3% of the mixture.
