Description

Among the already known advertising devices with time-varying advertised images, one of the groups of devices are those in which the advertised image is reproduced on a billboard, which is a series of closely connected turning rollers, prisms and other bodies carrying side of its surface elements of the advertised image.

The present proposal, referring also to the above-mentioned group of advertising devices, differs from the well-known themes1, where the swivel rollers adjacent to each other are provided directly on their side surface or on the ribbons thrown over them by smooth curves made up of the elements of the advertised image. Such an embodiment of the device provides for the possibility of reproducing mobile advertising images.

The principle of the advertising device is as follows. If endless ribbons of paper depicting a smooth curve are wound from a thin roller, then directly on the roller we will SEE a small segment of the curve (line, point) that will somehow move along the roller.

The several curves depicted in the HS tape will give several points moving along the roller.

Looking in a series of parallel, closely spaced rollers located in one plane, it is possible to pick up the curves depicted on the ribbons, so that a certain advertising image is formed from the points visible on each roller. By rotating the rollers and rewinding the tape, we get the effect of moving the points along the rollers, and with it the effect of the image movement that they make up. In order for this movement to be coordinated - and to have a definite meaning, the curves on the rollers must be suitably selected.

The curves should be graphs of the movement of points of the advertising image along the rollers, moreover, in which the time axis is located along the length of the tape, and the axis of movement along its width.

In the attached drawing of FIG. 1 and 2 are schematically depicted in two projections an advertising device according to the invention; FIG. 3 — one form of the device; FIG. 4 shows a possible embodiment of the device of FIG. 1 and 2.

Here, the rollers, which are rotated from the common worm shaft 2 connected to the electric motor 3, encompass a series of endless belts 4. The rollers carry the teeth and the ribbons are perforated along the edges, which prevents the ribbons from slipping, which would cause the image to be distorted. .

If the motion of the image is small, then you can do without a tape, drawing the curves directly onto the rollers. Then we get the device represented in one projection in FIG. 3

The image quality will be more sophisticated, the greater the number of rollers made up; their image. A high-quality image can be obtained with a large number of very thin rollers. In this case, it is convenient to apply the variant of the device, presented in a single projection (side) in FIG. four.

Here, thin smooth rollers / make up an image, and rollers 2 of a larger diameter are provided with teeth, which enter into the perforation of the tapes, and teeth that are rotated by a common worm shaft 3 connected to an electric motor.

In cases where the tape sizes

or the conditions of the image do not allow to close the cycle of movement so that one direction of rotation of the roller can be dispensed with, it is necessary to provide a reversing device which can be executed both mechanically and as a switch that automatically switches the direction of rotation of the electric motor to the opposite. Here, however, no new designs are provided for this purpose.
