During storage of fuel, losses from j evaporation reach tens of thousands of tons, and a loss to the state annually, amounting to hundreds of thousands of rubles.

To reduce the loss of fuel from evaporation, attempts were made to use floating bodies constructed of wood or metal. These floating structures are very cumbersome and their installation is associated with a number of difficulties. The float offered by the applicant, which aims to bring evaporation losses to a minimum, is very advantageous from the previously known floats in terms of its weight and in terms of installation, and in addition, this float also serves as a fire extinguisher in case of ignition of the air mixture in the tank.

The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment, with FIG. 1 shows a vertical section of a tank with a float located in it, and FIG. 2 is a top view of the tank roof removed.

The float is a bag 7 of dense gas-tight matter impregnated with a gasoline-resistant composition. The fabric of the bag is treated with either petrol-resistant rubber, so-called resins, or with a no less resistant cellophane.

The bag, in its inflated condition, has a lenticular shape and closes the entire evaporation mirror in the tank.
