Description

The proposed device is intended to protect the ends of the steel cables from unwinding while cutting them and consists of a spiral wire that is curled in the direction opposite to the cable twist that is put on the cable, near the cutting point. One end of the wire is crocheted to fasten three strands and at the other, to prevent the wire from sliding along the cable, an additional thin wire is wound, the turns of which fall between the straight strands of the cable.

The device consists of a helically curled spring wire 1, one end of which is bent along the axis and along it, forming a hook 2, and the other retracted along the axis of the spring and its end loop 3 protrudes slightly from the cylindrical surface formed by prulgin coils. At this end, in addition, a thin wire 4 is wound by a length of a coil or more. The wire / is curled in the direction opposite to the twist of the cable. The internal diameter of the wire helix / slightly smaller than the diameter of the cable. The helix pitch is equal to or greater than the cable diameter.

In operation, before the cable is cut, the end of the hook 2 is inserted between the strands and, rotating the spring wire / around the cable, is put on the cable. After trimming the cable 2 under the hook, the cable strands into the hook and, striving to unwind, turn the end of the spring, tightening the cable with it. The coils of wire 4, the west between the strands of the cable, prevent the end of the wire / from slipping both circular and longitudinal in the direction of the cable axis if the elastic pressing of its cable would be insufficient. To reinforce the latter, the spring can be slightly moved apart when it is put on the cable, increasing its pitch and thus reducing the diameter. To remove the spring, you must click on the loop 5 and then move the entire helix beyond this end to the left.

The pitch of the helix is then reduced, and the diameter of the spring increases and it is freely removed from the cable.
