Description

In devices for forming glass sheets installed in glass melting furnaces with a chamber for glass melting, conveyor devices with hooks for glass fiber tape are used. Ribbon grips are connected to endless conveyors and even electromagnets are provided in some cases for even clamping of the belt.

Along the edges of the glass ribbon 1 are mounted on gears or pulleys 2, two pairs of chain or steel strip endless conveyors 3, in each pair of strips connected across the movement of the strip 4, used to install the grippers.

Each grip consists of two curved arms 5, hingedly fastened to the strap 4 and tread across the width of the glass to the desired value.

Smoothly delineated jaws of the levers adjacent on opposite sides, and the tape may have a length equal to a greater or lesser part of the width of the tape or may be made across the entire width.

In the case of drawing glass tubes, the shape of the jaws of the levers 5 changes accordingly.
