К катушке L колебательного контура LC присоединены анод и нить диода К, цепь накала которого питаетс  от прерывистого генератора. Прерывистый генератор должен быть отрегулирован таким образом, чтобы диод Д мог зажигатьс  и гаснуть в течение одного периода прерывистой генерации. Благодар  медленному накалу диода, длина волны генератора будет мен тьс .
